Hello lovely PSers,

I'm hoping someone with experience with Pears can let me know if this might be a good stone? It looks bright and has very minimal bowtie from what I can see.. I do love the rato. Does this video provide some idea on light performance? Opinions much appreciated!

Have you seen the diamond in person? I initially had a diamond with a ratio of 1.6 on hold, however once it was drawn up on CAD I realised it was far longer than what I was after.

Is this for a ring or another item of jewellery?

Do you have any other images of this stone besides the video? I feel like the stone has shoulders but cant really tell due to the way its being held.

Edit...I did find a picture of the stone. Is does have shoulders. How do you feel
about the shape? The sparkle does look decent for a pear (even though the sparkle doesnt look great in this picture).

The rounded end of the pear you picked out is sort of has corners like a rounded triangle (instead of being rounded off).
The area in red would be the "shoulder" area.

@cflutist has the most amazing pear. Icy perfection. A good pear has a pleasing shape, but with the way that pear is displayed on video it's hard to see the stone's shoulders. I like a nicely rounded shoulder.

Check out all the videos you can to determine what shape pleases you. Some people like chubby pears, some prefer elongated. This is mine 2.4ct H VS2

Thank you so much @tyty333 for getting a much better image of the stone and informing me of the shoulder. I actually don't mind the shoulder so much, although having a more rounder curve would be beautiful. I will continue looking but will consider this stone still.

@KingKuda - hi, I'm thinking of a ring project for the pear :)

@cflutist @doberman thank you both for sharing your beautiful pears. Yes, I see the teardrop is so organic and beautiful. I will keep my eyes open for other options. Love both of yours and hope I find mine soon :)

Hi @cflutist - could you also share the ratio of your pear? It's just gorgeous!!

1.63, right smack in the middle between the preferred 1.50 and 1.75.
Most on PS prefer chunkier pears closer to 1.50. I like mine to look closer to a teardrop.

What is different between my pear and the one you posted is the girdle outline and shape appeal.

I always think these stones look like shield shapes but that's me. I prefer the teardrop shapes like Cflutist's amazing pear but it depends on what the buyer/ wearer finds beautiful.

I do not like the shape. It looks like a shield and not a pear. It probably looks bigger face up (more finger coverage) and that is why it is cut like that.
