Thoughts on oval diamond

.
The bow-tie region dies out in you pictures of the diamond on hand; I expect it to be the brightest portion of the stone & balk at the rest !

If you look over my posts here, you will find that I like diamodns upside-down too ... for what that doesn't matter.

This was my concern as well. Although, I haven’t seen many oval diamonds in real life. I chose one with good symmetry, excellent polish. Depth 62%. It was calculated as a Master Cut by Enchanted Diamonds. Kind of ata loss, as I followed every “rule” as well as seen in video.

Ovals are painful that way ... (these www - are painfully beautiful to me !)

IHMO, the only shape that can be had by some rules is the RBC.

Ovals are very hard. They don't comply with any rules and shallower can be better than deeper at times. I'm not a fan of the stone you selected as it seem to only have a narrow area of good performance.

Are you looking for alternatives? If so, give us a budget and specs. Do you need to stick with BN now ?

As others have stated, there really are no rules for ovals...you have to go by the looks (Enchanted Diamonds numbers for fancy cut stones are, well, not
very useful to put it nicely...we've told them). There are just too many variables to use a formula to figure out whats going on. I'm not a big fan of the stone you picked either. Might I suggest if you are already questioning it that you return it while it is still within the return window (it is right?) What does your GF
think?

I prefer this look in an oval...(hold shift down). As you turn the stone you can see more distinct facets head towards the rounded ends. This is an 8 main.
