Thoughts on my ring (video)

I just received my 1.10 round E VS2 “travel ring”. This ring came about because initially I purchased a moissanite but it was way too full of rainbows. I actually hadn’t known MMD were a thing. Fast forward to now, I’m curious what your thoughts are on this ring? I’m having a hard time capturing it on video but I’m wondering if I’m used to a warmer stone. My original ER is round old mine cut but seems more gray or silver if that makes sense - would need to dig up the cert to confirm color. I tried to learn so much about the four C’s my head was spinning ‍ I thought since it’s IGA I’d assume down a grade on color and clarity… but maybe it really is an E and to me looks kind of fake and there are a lot of rainbows still. Is that normal? My ER is smaller and old mine cut (center stone is around .75 carats) so maybe smaller stones don’t throw so many rainbows? I’ll be taking it to my local jeweler to inspect the setting but wondering what you all think in the meantime! I’m so appreciative of your help thus far. I do like it I was just not expecting it to be so…. White? Bright? I’m not sure
It won’t let me upload a video… bummer.

Your diamond looks lovely!
With the 40.6/35.7/55.5 combo, it will definitely lean towards more fire, especially in direct lighting conditions.

You can host your video at a site like YouTube and copy the link to it here, if you want.

Thanks! This was recommended by you :) so thanks! I just didn’t realize diamonds could be so full of rainbows

It’s beautiful! Enjoy!

It looks lovely! And your diamond is an E, so it should be very white. If you’re used to moissanite, I think you’ll find in person, diamonds and moissanites do have some noticeable differences (if you know what you’re looking for). I had a well cut round brilliant moissanite and F color diamond- in still photography I don’t know that I could pick up on the differences, but on the hand side by side, in person I could tell they weren’t the same material.

Thanks! I didn’t like the moissanite’s rainbows and I’m realizing my original E ring is probably a lower color/clarity and so I didn’t really know what to expect with a diamond this size. I thought it would sparkle but didn’t realize it would still have as many rainbows. Maybe that’s silly if me haha. I do love it more and more.

The combination of cut, color, and size are probably just way more blingy than what you are used to. Maybe you werent looking for that much visual impact in a travel ring? You could always decrease size, or change to a step/old cut. But it is really pretty so ihope you grow to like it :)

I think you’re exactly right! To be honest, I’m finding myself wanting to wear this more than for travel now

It’s lovely. You might have just opened your own Pandora’s box of lab diamonds :lol-2: They’re affordable and beautiful and it’s fun to try different cuts without breaking the bank n
