Hi all, i''m hoping you''ll be able to help me! I''m pretty new here and have been doing a bit of research...

Soooo...i found a pic of the sides i want on my engagement ring, its like this:
http://www.diamondsourceva.com/Diamonds/RoundCutRings/Round-Ring-2.59TB0.46RD0.46.asp

and i like the middle of this one: http://www.purejewels.com/product-Aurora-Engagement-Ring-S042.htm

with the last one, the pic isnt very good, but its stuning in person, with an emerald cut, asscher cut 0.75 ish...

what are your thoughts? Do you think this design flows well? I''ve put an order in but its not too late to back out, the main thing i''m concerened about is that the baguette sides are going to make the ring look very bulky... the place i''m getting it done has said that i am under no obligation to buy it... if i don''t like it he''ll keep it as part of his collection as he beleives it will look stunning!!!

Help appreciated girls.. and guys!

Thanks

Manisha

Does no-one have any advice on this?

I was hoping for some more experienced ring owners to come forward!!!

What is the size of your centrestone, is it an asscher or an EC, and how big are the halo baguettes/stones in the split shank/baguettes within the shank going to be?

It''s a very busy design, but it could look very nice with a larger centrestone. I''d be afraid of a smaller centre getting lost in everything else that''s going on.

Hi,

My centre stone is going to be 0.75 ish (i dont have one yet)... the halo around it makes it look a lot bigger though, i compared it to a carat and it looked the same size!!!!

I''m more worried about it being really raised because of the baguettes, if anyone has any alternative suggestions then they''re welcomed!!

personally just my own thoughts, I agree with Yssie, that its a bit much going on, Are you wanting wider band? or are you wanting a halo look? sorry if I''m a bit confused. If you want a halo look with baguettes, or so, Tacori makes a beautiful Halo with the baguettes.

I adore the middle part of this one: http://www.purejewels.com/product-Aurora-Engagement-Ring-S042.htm but am not so keen on the roundness of the band, i wanted a flatter band.

I saw an engagement ring somewhere with the sides like this but smaller and more introcate: http://www.diamondsourceva.com/Diamonds/RoundCutRings/Round-Ring-2.59TB0.46RD0.46.asp and a thin halo on top with a raised claw set in the middle (i can''t find a pic anywhere!)

However, i totally fell in love with the centre setting of the first one i''ve posted and i fell in love with the sides of the second one i posted.. the jeweller seems to think it''ll flow well because of the tiny round cut stones and baguettes on the sides of the halo but now i''m thinking it may be OTT. I just wish i could go back to where I saw the first thing!

So if i went with http://www.purejewels.com/product-Aurora-Engagement-Ring-S042.htm for the centre cut, what band do you think would look good? I was thinking baguettes: http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.goldenmine.com/productImages/Rings/image/rh216.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.goldenmine.com/index.asp%3FPageAction%3DVIEWPROD%26ProdID%3D8381&usg=__nyuxIf_CE1n9fdr4fP1DNrqwt78=&h=400&w=400&sz=60&hl=en&start=5&tbnid=5kGfGy_2ohn1tM:&tbnh=124&tbnw=124&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dbaguette%2Bband%26hl%3Den

something a bit more plain? i just am at a loss as to what would actually look good with this centre piece... and am totally changing my mind now as i really don''t want it to look too busy

Help!!!!!

I admit at first I didn''t realize you wanted a straight band and not a graduated size. The first setting IMO would look horrible with a small stone. It would have been lost.

One concern I have for the last one is the fact that it is an eternity band. It might be me, but that looks like a lot of metal and prong work to have going all the way around. I would be concerned about how comfortable it would be and honestly how easily it would be to damage the setting due to all the metal prongs showing.

I will say it isn''t really my style but the pieces do look like they match otherwise. I do think it is a bit too busy and would fear losing the beauty of a center stone in a setting like that. But that is my personal preference. I am definitely more of a "plain Jane" kind of gal.
