Thoughts on my prongs

I just upgraded my center stone to this one and had the head replaced. The jeweler I used set it crooked at first and then after they fixed it the prongs looked like they need to rhodium them again. So I had to bring my ring back to them again, this time they had to take the stone out and polish the prongs, then reset it. Since then, I've noticed that lint is getting stuck at times under the prongs. Should I be concerned? I will have a local jeweler look at it to make sure it is secure, as I have to have it re-appraised for insurance. Thoughts? Would my ring look better with a tulip prong head? Or do these prongs look right for the setting?

1. The prongs are crazy big and likely to get bent when they hit things - in my stores we would recommend filing them down into talons - and talons are much easier to push the leading edges down so they don't catch on fabric and ruin clothes.
2. Check to see if there is air between you diamond pavilion or bottom and the prongs. No gap means you can never clean the diamond after a build up of gunk.

I think the prongs look too bulky for the rest of the ring.

@Garry H (Cut Nut) and @momofive should I take it into the local jeweler I'm using for appraisal and see if they can thin out the prongs if that's even possible? I don't want to go back to the other jewelers, not only are they 45 min away, but I don't think they would thin them out or they would damage them if they tried.

I should also mention they look larger in photos. In person the prongs do not look as big or bulky.

I cant tell you who to use I am afraid.
Look at the prong on the photo I posted.
All the wear happens on the part i marked in red.
The height of your prongs are a liability not an asset.

@Garry H (Cut Nut) as an update I stopped at the local jewelers that I am using to have an appraisal done. They have an independent appraiser that comes in once a month. I had them look at my prongs and I mentioned the bulkiness and lint getting trapped. The jeweler said the prongs are shaped on the square side and cover a lot of the stone and should be rounded. They are going to "clean them up" as she explained and the jeweler even sketched out what the prongs look like now and how they should look. So they should look less bulky and more rounded how they should look. They quoted me a minimal fee for the work, so I dropped my ring to them.

@Garry H (Cut Nut) I wanted to ask you, when I took my ring to this local jeweler they diamond tested the center stone and it tested as moissanite. When I took my ring to the other jeweler it tested as diamond. I did read that HPHT lab diamonds can test as moissanite sometimes and I know that it is a diamond. I told them it is lab grown and I have a diamond certification.

Every time I find one of those stoopid testers I hide it or throw it out so my gemologists have to use their eyes and brains!
It takes 3 seconds with a loupe to ID moissanite by looking for double refraction which never ever occurs in diamond.
However M and grown diamonds are headed to about the same value anyway so no big deal ;-)

@Garry H (Cut Nut) I finally got my ring back from being repaired and appraised. I attached some photos, do you think the prongs look better and less bulky? Do you think they look aligned correctly?

@Garry H (Cut Nut) here are some more pictures of the side view.

@tyty333 thank you I agree they look way better. Do you think they look aligned and even given these additional photos?
