This is my grandmothers stone from the 30s. It has a few chips but has amazing sparkle facets. Warmer stone. Do you think it's round brilliant? What color next to my h? Worth recutting?? Thoughts?

I think it's lovely but you're right it's probably an o-p color.

I wouldn't recut it as a diamond that color is easier to sell as an old cut than a MRB.

do you like it? Do you feel a sentimental attachment?

My mom likes it and so does my sister... Probably won't come my way but don't think we'll sell it. Maybe a bezel will cover the chips??

Looks like an early modern round brilliant with a flat top.

Personally I'd have it recut a LITTLE BIT, both to rehab the chips and to alter the faceting just a little so that it has a transitional faceting, and improve the light return which I think will make a knock out.

This is what I mean by the faceting: http://www.jewelsbygrace.com/loose-diamonds/1-ct-to-2-00/1-44ct-transitional-cut-diamond-gia-i-vs1#.VoXkilL8dLM

You could have GOG send it to Yoram, and specify as little spread loss as possible.
