Hi all,

First time poster here, thanks for all the insightful info which has helped me a lot!

Wondered if anybody has any thoughts on these images from a CAD for a three stone RB e-ring please?

1.15 centre stone
0.19 each side stone
1.8mm shank

The claws will all be pointed and the setting will actually be a white metal.

Thanks in advance!

I think it looks really pretty.
However I would not want that thin of a shank. Personal preference and comfort, that’s all.

Thank you :) yes - totally see what you mean. I wanted to go thin so it would be significantly slimmer than the side stones, but perhaps I should go to 2mm.

Beautiful design! I too would go at least 2mm.

I love the design - it's a very simple elegance.
One thing I would change:

(sorry for my poor squiggle line) - I would see if the bridge could be made to be less square and more D-shaped like the rest of the ring.

I'm not sure if there are any safety concerns about the positioning of the prongs on the side stones, but I would confirm that the ring designer feels that it would be secure.

Thank you. I wouldn’t have even thought about that but can see how that would improve the finish.

I’ve changed the design to 2mm now :) I also wondered if you had any thoughts on the height/depth of the shank? Looking at the CAD with measurements I posted, I think it’s 1.54. Does that sound about right with a 2mm shank?

Bottom right side view photo...how is the cathedral going to meet the prong on the side stones? It looks like it overhangs the sides of the prong
but wonder if they are going to file it down so it smoothly meets up with the width of the prong?

Good question - I’ll need to ask the maker that. Thanks :) do you have any thoughts re thickness of the shank? I’ve done so much searching on the forum but can’t seem to find suggestions for the best thickness/height of a 1.8-2.00mm wide shank.
