Thoughts about this Red Ceylon Spinel?

Red isn't normally my color but I've been attracted to this spinel for awhile. Thoughts? Do you think it will be muddy/dark/brownish in person? It is $1k for 1.73k and I'm wondering if that is an OK price.

Yes, I do think it'll be brownish in person

I think it will be dark, and the cut will not lend it to sparkle very much.

It will most likely be a deep dark burgundy in colour rather than a true red, although you might get lucky it will still probably be fairly dark. Ask for more photos on a white background and one taken on the back of the hand in natural lighting not using a penlight or anything else specifically on it.

Looks like it will be a dark stone in person with the propensity for wanting to become muddy indoors.
