I saw your avatar change and meant to ask about it but I've been sooo caught up in admiring my new stone that I get distracted each time I look at it...hehehee.
I love the size, it looks absolutely enormous...mmmmm 2.36c....here I come!
over your ring but can''t post from her PC at work. More from her later
when she returns home tonight.
I must say again, your ring is one of the nicest I have seen here in terms of color, clarity and cut (and weight of course). Very rare to have quality/quantity in all 4 Cs.
I always thought anything bigger than a carat would look wayyyyy too big on my hand (I''m 4.5) but you have a similar setting to mine, with a fabulous 2+ carat, and it looks great!!!
Uh oh.... hope my FI isn''t reading this.... he''s gonna have a heart attack!
Kaleigh,
I just wanted to say that although I drool over a lot of rings here on PS, I''ve rarely been compelled to sneak time during work to post a reply.....but your ring is MY IDEAL RING!!!!! I sent 5 people the link to this thread yesterday because I''m absolutely in AWE. I''m very sensitive to color, and although I see beautiful "I" or "J" color ideal cuts on PS that look AWESOMELY white, I know that I''d never be happy because "I''d" know the color grade, and obsess about it.
My current e-ring is a E color princess (1.25ct), and I told my husband just last week that my ultimate goal is to own a H&A round brilliant in the 2-2.5 ct range, and in a G or better color. He saw a 2ct at a jeweler''s and thought it didn''t look big enough....I told him that 3ct was too big for everyday wear IMO, so we agreed that something in between would be perfect. When I showed him your ring yesterday, it even blew HIM away. Usually he hates to look at any jewelry I show him....but when he saw yours, he actually bookmarked it on his computer because he thought it was BEAUTIFUL and he knows that if he can get me something close to what you have, I''d never ask for anything else again.
I''m at least 10 years away from a siginificant anniversary upgrade, but the timelessness of this setting makes it perfect in any age/time/place!
Kaleigh, Kaleigh, Kaleigh....have you been holding out on us?????
It drove me NUTS all day that I could not comment on this exquisite specimen. Jaysonsmom is right--there is somethng special about your ring. Perhaps it is the perfection (E, VVS2!!!)...or the stone itself. It has always been my belief that many stones have great numbers and are beautiful but some stones just radiate from within. I think yours in one of them--I can see life and crackling throughout that stone!
My first stone was "super Ideal" by the numbers but my second stone, although still a 1A cut, is far more beautiful and lively.
Do you have the numbers? I''d be curious to see what the technical side of this magnificent stone is. And the setting--just beautiful.
Jennifer,
That is sooo sweet of you. I haven''t been holding out on any of you, it''s just that well I''m not exactly up to par with all the computer stuff. My daughter tried taking pics with her digital camera, but the pics were so blurry, I didn''t want to post them. Sevens one took the pics and posted them for me. She gets all the credit. As far as technical info, I don''t have the pavillion angles etc.. The specs were given as I had them from GIA. We bought the ring back in 2000. Way before I even knew about PS!! Many thanks for your kind words. Nan took some other pics, which I will share later....
