Slightly deep in total depth, might have a smaller spread, and an iffy crown and pav angle combination, possible leakage so need IS to verify.

Hi tlrioza,

This diamond is too deep for my taste, and this depth can make the diamond look small for the weight, plus the angle combo isn''t potentially the best. Do you have any others in mind?

not yet, still looking.

Now that you mention it, it did look small, but the sparkle was great in natural light.

It wouldn''t surprise me if it did look small tlroza with that type of depth. If you had the diameter measurement we could probably see that it doesn''t measure up to the face up size it should do. Do you prefer to buy from a jewellery store or online?

I''d like to buy locally, but know at the end of the day I will get a better diamond for the money online.

maybe you folks can help me, this is kinda confusing and I''m so new at this.

we are looking for a GIA, 1.50 - 1.75, H-I around 10,000.00

is this realistic?

by the way, the measurements for that diamond are 7.32 x 7.36 x 4.60

If we look at SI clarity grades then we might be able to find something for that budget. I will take a look for you. Always check with the seller that any SI clarities are eyeclean to your standards.

this is so helpfull for me, we walked into a couple a places on saturday with a "deer in the head light" look.

Is it ever a good idea to go EGL if you think you''d probably never upgrade.

I like the diamonds that you''ve attached, and will check them out in detail.

thanks so much for your input!

No, please don''t go with EGL. You can''t be sure what the true grade is and you are at risk of overpaying for the stone.

Should AGS with sI2 clarity scare me? some of those red marks look like a road map

No, always ask the seller if a diamond is eyeclean to your standards and make your expectations known. You can''t tell by the plotting diagrams of the reports, some SI2 are indeed very eyeclean so asking a trusted vendor is your best bet.

I'd consider going down in color and up in clarity. My 2 cents.
