I am hoping for some feedback. Looking for a center diamond about under 6k for a solitaire setting wit half or 3/4 eternity band. The center stone selection is overwhelming me and I hope someone might give me some input. I am just beginning the search but have come back with these so far:

On the right track or way off base?

The BG hands down - no question. The other doesn't have a certificate to view, so you don't know the crown and pavillion angles, and it doesn't have an idealscope image that I can find. GIA's cut quality grading is more leniant than AGS (the BG scores an AGS 0 (the best) in light performance - it's a stunner!). When you have a GIA stone you really should have all information available to you. You run all the numbers through the HCA, and if it's under 2 the next step is to get an idealscope image. You don't need to do that with this AGS BG stone because it has already been proven to have ideal light performance.

And BG will make a very high quality setting. Get both the stone and the setting from the same vendor.

And laser inscription on the girdle is not a big concern. The BG is inscribed anyway - you can see it documented on the AGS certificate if you enlarge it.

Thank you so much. Such helpful advice.....I read about the HCA but had not thought to use it. Appreciate the opinion.
