Thinking of Selling my 2.17 Tiffany Solitaire

Hi All,

I'm considering selling my 2.17 carat, I, VS1 round brilliant Tiffany Solitaire - size 4.5. I have an updated valuation report issued from Tiffany's (current Tiffany appraisal value of $48,500) & a copy of the original receipt of purchase. I do not have the original Tiffany's certificate. The ring is laser inscribed and in mint condition. I understand that resale will be much lower then the appraisal value designated by Tiffany's. Any ideas on a reasonable starting point to list the ring at?

I have no idea besides looking at comps of similar sold tiffany rings on ebay and pricing it up a little from there (with the intentions
of coming down some.)

Have you looked into consignment? Maybe with jewelsbygrace.com?

Oakgem is selling a 2.10 I VS2 for $29,500 and your stone is a VS1 and larger
…so maybe start in the mid $30,000 range?
I'll let the experts weigh in because I don't really know, but at least this gives you some idea.
As tyty said, start a bit high to leave room to negotiate.

Just to keep in mind, as a friend of mine who is a very experienced ebay seller says - what it's listed for, and what it sells for, are two very different things.
