Things you wish you knew in your 30s and 40s?

I also love this Holstee Manifesto (hope it's OK to post a YouTube link):

Be selfish. Grow strong in self confidence and self knowledge and self-esteem.
Love does not conquer all; you need more than love to be content, happy and to survive.
Respect is earned; it is not an entitlement.
Pay it forward without expectation of getting anything in return.
Hone your skills for dealing with *ssholes because they're everywhere.

People that talk about and badmouth others with you will do the same to you.

Don't have more kids or pets than you can financially and emotionally handle.

If you seem to be doing most of the work in a relationship or friendship consider whether that effort is better spent on someone else.

Live the life you want and not the life other people expect you to live.

Marry someone you would enjoy riding out a pandemic with :)

Some more advice from me.

You have to be a true friend to have a true friend and know some people aren't capable of being a true friend no matter what you do. Which brings me to the next wise thought.

When someone shows you who they are believe them the first time. It will save you a lot of aggravation and energy and time.

Lost time is never found again. Time is our most precious commodity.

Nobody can make you feel inferior without your permission.

Laugh as often as you can. Don't take life too seriously. Don't take yourself too seriously
.

Health is everything, mental and physical.

Therapy is good, go!

Drink lots of water and save money on wrinkle cream.
