I need some more help. I'm not sure if the shank on my rings is too thin. Is there an average that they should be? Can anyone post pictures of the shanks on their ring. I know it's expensive to have them made thicker so I don't want to do that if it's not necessary. I'm also afraid it will ruin my ring. Thanks for your help!

It's been general consensus on PS for a while that thinner than 2mm is probably too thin. I wear a tiffany-style solitaire from Whiteflash that gets a little bit thinner toward the bottom, but the thickness (depth) of the metal also factors in to how well it will wear. If it is both very narrow and very thin (shallow?), that could be a problem.

I will try to add photos of my rings.

ETA: Okay, uploading my own photos is not working since I'm trying to do it from my phone, but this is my setting:

You can see how the bottom of the shank is narrower than the top near the prongs, but it's not so thin/shallow as to cause concern.

I'm worried about the bottom part of the ring. Do you think it's too thin? I've attached a picture of the ring.

I don't think it's too thin. Though how wide is the band?

Your ring looks quite sturdy, do you know if it is plain or hollow inside the shank?
