Anyone else love it as much as I do?? What do you think of the contestants so far? Cheryl's performance last night? Joe McElderry's new single? John being voted off? Simon and Louis's bickering??

I am glued to it, my Saturday nights have fallen by the wayside! I love Paije, I think he's fab and I love his style. Katie's performance was brilliant this week. And...of course...MARY IS AMAZING! I can't wait to see what she does next week.

Did anyone watch Piers meets Cheryl? I definitely have a girl crush on her, she's lovely!

Lastly...Dermot O'Leary, if you're reading this...please track me down and marry me :halo:

I am a huge X Factor fan!! I love Cheryl Cole but I am getting a bit sad with all of the bickering between the judges. Louis and Simon are terrible!

I love Matt, Cher and Rebecca. I also like Aiden, he is really quirky. Mary seems to be a bit of a one trick pony which is sad as she has an amazing voice. Too many of these big huge songs will become boring. Treyc has a brilliant voice but I didn't like her song choice this week.

Wagner.... Good grief. Who is voting for him lol!

I like Belle Amie and One Direction. They have a lot of potential. As for Katie. I just don't get her. I find her annoying.

I love the x-factor!!! I've been out the last couple of weekends though so I've missed most of the live shows. Can't believe that John was out though last night-bit of a shocker! I love Mary and Rebecca. I have Belle Amie in our work poll so I'm hoping they do well although I know that they'll be out before long. As for Cheryl, she's absolutely gorgeous and she seems so nice. I don't know why Ashley did what he did-what a sucker!

Yay I'm so glad I'm not the only one! I've stopped even pretending that it's a guilty pleasure at this stage, I'm now an open X Factor fan!

I'm not sure about Aiden. I do like him, but I find him kind of uncomfortable to watch because he is so nervous and intense. Matt is brilliant, I definitely think he will go far. Cher isn't my taste, but I do think she is talented and I admire her - she's only 16! Fair play to her for doing her thing. I think Mary might pull it out of the bag next week - did you see in the finalists performance last night when she sang her bit of "Forget You"? I thought she could handle modern very well and hopefully that was a glimpse of what's to come. I'm definitely pulling for her I think she's fantastic. Rebecca too, she's brilliant. One Direction...aw bless their cotton socks! I think they're great.

Katie...she's a funny one. I loved her performance this week, but I just can't warm to her. Something about her is very off-putting. Remember in judges houses, she said something like "I want to be a huge star in everything, singing, dancing, medicine..." I was like "whaa? Medicine?? What are you on about?!?" Ugh, I just don't know about her, but I'm trying to keep an open mind. She does have a good voice.

Bee* I voted for Belle Amie too - the girls and I did a sealed envelope prediction at the start of the show (saddos, but we're past caring at this point). But now I'm not so sure, they're not gelling and that blonde one seems reaaaaally annoying and whingy. I think John has a great voice, and I enjoyed his performances, however I forgot them almost immediately. I feel the same way about Treyc. I wasn't too surprised he was gone. He didn't do a great job of his sing-off against Treyc (the spelling of her name annoys me no end!).

Ya Ashley is a total pratt! Those bloody footballers. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

And finally, Wagner... sweet Jesus...cringe!! Did ye see the Stephen Fry on Wagner video during the Xtra Factor last night?! I nearly fell off the chair laughing! I hope Stephen sees the funny side! Here's a link to the video if you missed it.

Sorry Porridge, I vehemently dislike the show, and all others based on the same concept. I cannot abide the consistent ridicule of the ‘contestants’ at the preliminary stages. I cannot watch a show whose purpose is unabashedly to mock the contestants – even if they are damn fools. The rich get richer as those poor fools who go on the show just increase ratings as their emotions are laid bare. Even if it were a true talent contest, the competitiors are chasing fools gold as it is only those who are associated with producing the show who ultimately benefit, save for the odd exception.

So, no. I don’t watch it. But almost everybody I know, does.

:))

Ah Steal, I was wondering when you would chime in. I had a feeling that this would be your opinion. I completely understand your point of view, I suppose I just have a harsher stance on who should be responsible for what. Although I do think there should be a lower age limit. Some of these contestants are just kids!

We'll agree to disagree, thanks for your input :))

Am I really that predictable? I must be!

Ha! No, not predictable as such, just that I suppose as one of few fellow Irishwomen on here I naturally pay that bit more attention to you. By now, to me, you have a recognisable moral code and I had thought that the format of such shows would conflict with it. And I was right :sun:

I'll have to agree to disagree with you as well Steal! My DH on the other hand has the same opinion as you. He thinks it's a fools game.

I didn't get to pick who I had unfortunately Porridge-I think I would have picked Matt or Mary if I had gotten to. Wagner is my guilty pleasure-he's like Jedward last year. I love seeing what he does every week!
