Some might remember my OEC studs - they were purchased about 12-13 years ago, back in the days when random finds on eBay at ridiculous prices were not so rare!
They were in rich yellow gold original 6-prong screw-back mountings, which were beautiful but not super comfortable - they were too high in the setting, the narrow base pushed into my piercings, and the screw-backs were prone to loosen or over-tighten. At the time I left them as is and wore them as such for a decade.
Finally a few months ago I sent them to David Klass to be reset, not really knowing what I wanted. We went back and forth many times with different designs and metal alloys, finally settling on golden 20K rose gold in a 6-prong tulip-style mounting. I asked for them to be as low as possible and for the prongs to wrap around to give a semi-buttercup view top-down. They are incredibly comfortable and turned out just as I had hoped!
The stones are 6mm, O/P light brown, SI clarity. Apologies for the hasty phone photos!
