But absolutely! A fab collection & I'm super envious if your DBTY collection. Drool! And love that little pearl ring. Is it vintage?

And final three.

Thanks Alex! The pearl ring isn't vintage, I bought it from a shop in the Brighton jewellery Laines about ten years ago. It's an akoya pearl. Cost about 150 pounds.

That's pretty funny! Sadly they are all honest gains. Enerchi - the 11k was just the DBTY. The replacement value of this lot is well into six figures - my e-ring alone would cost 10k to replace! I didn't spend six figures, I hasten to add. Quite a bit of it was gifts, and one-of-a-kind bargains like the pristine pre-owned Tiffany Etoile ring from E.B. Horn that cost $650 instead of $2,500. Another example is the Harry S. Blick gold rose brooch with the diamonds on the leaves which I got for $450 but which costs $1k elsewhere - when you can find one, since they're antiques.

Well, people have been talking about family shots so I thought I'd do one!

If I tried doing a shot like this, all my jewels would fit into the palm of my small hand. :)

Yes, but it would look a lot smaller if I took out all the chunky silver stuff and the pearls, all of which are inexpensive freshwaters except one pair of studs and one strand.

I think that most people on PS have fewer jewels but really expensive ones, like 2 carat and above rings. My largest diamond is 0.70.

Very reassuring to know that none are from a police lock up!! Phew....!!!

You have so many beautiful pieces and I think it is AWESOME that there were so many 'bargains' in the collection! I love getting a good price on something and you have always been so patient and resourceful at finding the perfect item!! All your hard work paid off beautifully!! Love the pics!!

Any chance we could get a family photo of all the DBTY necklaces on you??? I'm excited about that idea!!! :appl:

Smith, you are a woman after my own heart. I have nothing but admiration for the people who have the discipline to consolidate their stuff into a few GIGANDAMUNDO pieces, but me ... I like variety. :naughty:

It's like a memory palace, sort of - every piece carries all of these discrete, impossible-to-replicate memories and associations. Not to mention the fun of switching things up every once in a while!

I love your collection, and have been enjoying your recent threads immensely - so much to admire, and all of it elegant and high quality. Beautiful "family" you've got there! :cheeky:

Oh very nice! I keep thinking I really need to consolidate my lot, but then....I don't.

I have a shot like this, on a black cloth too. Great minds eh? ;))

Thanks for sharing!

Ay, Caramba! Quite a collection! Is that a little golden house in the first of your last three shots?

Thanks, Enerchi!

Got a big work project coming up, so you might have to wait while for the DBTY shot!

Another great buy was the blue topaz earrings. They are over a carat of topaz and 0.50 ctw diamonds, in the step cut pattern with the twist of diamonds at the top. They were $1300 reduced to $650. And I got a lot of my Tiffany stuff on tax-free shopping weekends.

Sometimes I feel I should have got a few BIG things instead, but I could never justify spending so much on one single item. I don't have the guts!

It IS a memory palace. See the silver necklace with the large links in the centre with a heart at the end? I bought that in Harrods 13 years ago. I had just moved to London for my career, and I was so miserable. My flat was so horrible and shabby, my flatmate was horrible (a stranger I'd found in the paper needing a share), my job was horrible, and I had no money and no friends. I went to Harrods' fine jewellery dept on a summer evening after work when I had no one to hang out with, and bought this necklace, and went out to tea at a nice place opposite. I couldn't afford either thing, but they did make me feel much better. It's odd to remember that day and reflect on how far I've come.

Share your shot then, Rosetta!

This is actually my collection AFTER I shaved it down a bit. I can say that I love and wear most of it.

Dear Smith, i have been enjoying very much seeing all your beautiful juwels, thank you for posting them! Your large collection is just awesome! How do you ever decide what to wear on a particular day? And what are yours top 5 favorite pieces?

sparklies!! *grabby hands*

Beautiful collection! Congrats! :appl:

Thanks, Efriede! I keep most of it in my special hiding place and I get a few pieces out at a time, wear them for 2-3 weeks, then rotate. I'd love to have this lot in one of those jewellery closets, where there's space for everything, but that's just a burglar's dream.

Top five? Hmm. Probably my new upgrade diamond studs, which are 1.12 D, my Tiffany E 0.22 DBTY pendant in platinum, my James Allen D 0.52 pendant, my teardrop diamond earrings, and my sapphire and diamond ring from my grandmother.

Thanks Staci!

I had a flash back moment when you said you keep your pieces in a 'special place" and I know that I do that kind of thing to. So logical, so obvious that a child of 2 could figure it out... or so I think when I'm hiding them in that 'special place' that made sense at the time... then days/weeks/months go by and I then think --- where the heck did I put "XXXX"???? I have zero memory skills so I hope you are far more clever and always use the same location--- I do forget anything once its behind a closed door/lid/drawer.... my mind is so feeble, its pathetic!

just a quick question --- do you have a turquoise single DBTY in your collection? It looks like one from the Tiffany website - I love that!! And if you are feeling the need to donate any item to a charity of your choice - Enerchi's Birthday Month is December... so I know *MY* charity would happily accept that donation!! :wink2: ;))

Police loot! How do you ever decide what to wear? Fantastic collection! Amazing! :appl:

Thanks Christina!

Enerchi - yes, the turquoise bracelet and necklace is the Tiffany one. Just below, there is also a silver mesh Tiffany necklace with a pearl at the top of the mesh. The mesh is diamond-shaped.

Happy Birthday for December!!
