Personally, I'd pass. I'd email Adam (http://www.paraibainternational.com/products.php?category=3) and tell him what you're looking for and your budget. I'd rather have something that's not opaque, even if that meant a smaller size. But that's just me.

Solely based on the pictures I would not choose this stone. It indeed looks very opaque and 'flat'.
I second Sparkliesluver's idea to contact Adam from Paraiba International.

I think there are nicer ones, this one looks milky. I agree with Sparklie you may need to go down in size.

This is my first post on PS but I thought I'd share photos of my paraiba ring. I am ecstatic of the way it glows. I did the stone selection myself from hundreds of paraibas and decided to go with a top color, blue cushion with mixed cut. The stone is included but I was after the glow which beats all the crystal, eye clean stones that doesn't turn neon as the stone I selected. I enhanced the stone with a halo setting in a three row pave band.

Seaglow - Welcome and killer first post(s). You knocked it out of the park I wish I had hundreds of paraiba's to look at and choose from...where did you find yours? It's gorgeous and just the right size. The setting perfectly shows it off too and with great finger coverage Your ring may be one of my favorites (and there are many here that I love).

Thanks, lilmosun! I went to the recent Bangkok Jewellery and Gemstone Fair. I noticed that many copper bearing tourmaline, though bright, are not glowy. They are very pretty though but I want one that glows.

Here's an example of very clean stones but it doesn't glow enough for me so I settled for an included, smaller one as it's meant to be an everyday ring.





The stone I chose from trays of paraibas. From this tray, only two has a strong glow including my stone. The glowy ones appear to have no extinction.

Thanks Acinom! This piece I enjoy wearing. It's meant as my everyday ring so the stone is set low. You also have gorgeous paraibas! Your Leon ring is a stunner.

Lovinggems, the rest of the collection should go on the Show Me your Bling thread. I only have 2 paraiba rings. Lol. But I plan to have paraiba studs in the future.
