I am (anxiously and impatiently) waiting for UPS to arrive with my new 3 ct, 4.5 tcw, ring!
This will replace my original engagement ring, which we will have to find a use for later!!

The funny thing is, the ring I designed is now on their website. The center stone is of a different quality than I picked, however it is the same design and carat size. Don't you think I deserve something? At least name it after me??

OK, I'm not great with pics and links, hopefully this will work this time, I think I followed DT's advice

. I'd like to just post the image and not the whole link, but that is a bit too complicated for me, if anyone do it or let me know how!

yay! your link worked!

here is your ring... GORGEOUS!!!

Wow, looks gorgeous!

Did they let you know that your design was going to be put up on their website? I do think you deserve something, such as it named after you!

Enjoy your ring!

Thanks Amethyste, I love your yellow pear it is beautiful! It would look great with mine I think!

Thanks MC, I agree, it should be named after me!! I am thinking of contacting them once it comes....seriously though shouldn''t UPS give an exact time or something? I am afraid to leave the house! I am considering leaving a note on the door with my cell number, I wonder if they will call? I need to go to the gym & pick up my daughter from school (first day today)..or maybe I will just run laps around the house and she can find her own way home....I don''t want to miss the delivery of the ring!

Looks awesome!!!!

just GORGEOUS!

As for them selling your design..was it custom? I think they''re supposed to ask your permission if it''s a custom design. You should DEF. get to name the ring.

You should name it... HELLO GORGEOUS

Beautiful! Would love to see hand shots!

I'm so glad you are happy with your ring, and I hope you love it as much in person!!

About the design thing. You modified an existing design to a different shaped center and changed the prongs and the diamond color in the halo... they really did all the work, you kinda just pointed to a setting and said, "Can that be made for my stone with a few minor changes?"... not really YOU designing the ring from my point of view, so the implication that they owe you some type of design credit.. well, I think it's a little strange.

What color is the metal cup the diamond is sitting in? Is it white or did you ask for an open culet design? If you went with either of those options... they were ones I made on your thread (not that I want credit, just making a point), and I certainly don't think I have any rights at all to that setting either. And DT made a lot of suggestions too, and I don't think she wants it named after her, either. Sorry, I'm not meaning to pick a fight. But I've put together setting designs using inspiration from many different rings and asked a designer to create a piece for me to my exact specifications. From scratch as a collaboration with the designer. And I still didn't think the designer owed me anything other than the actual ring I commissioned, even when pressed. And I've also asked designers to take their exisiting designs and modify them for me-- for a particular stone and add a bezel... and in that case, I again didn't even feel I like I had the right to anything other than the ring I commissioned.

Dunno. Just me probably but I guess (despite the fact that I do, over my objections, have one design named after my PS nickname, and another design that I named at the behest of the vendor) I don't get the named after me thing. I mean some people feel it's a nice gesture when a vendor offers to name a piece after them, but there's no REQUIREMENT that they do so.

I just think that well, your post is misleading and almost makes it sound like the vendor is using "your design" to make money in a way that is unethical. And that's the remotest thing from the truth, and I don't think that's very fair to your vendor. Especially since they aren't a PS vendor, can't defend themselves, and you have people like MC and atroop thinking that you might have some right to something... when really, I don't think you don't have the rights to anything other than the actual ring you commissioned and paid for. And will recieve.

For reference... original ring:

The ring that looks like yours:

Did you design the profile of the ring? Cause that's different from the original. Or did they make that change on their own to work with the round shape? I guess... I think at most it's a collaboration. And still don't really think they owe you anything more than what you are already getting: A STUNNING ring.

And it is a stunning ring.

Thanks for all the compliments, yes it came yesterday and I was blown away by its beauty!

I doubt I will put hand shots up....I tried to with my original tacori and they came out terrible! But if I have time I might pull out a different digital, and see how it looks!

Gypsy....was it really 3 am when you posted your response? Because that is very late and I think being tired was possibly getting to you!!!

I NEVER said anything about my vendor being unethical! My entire post was tongue in cheek. I am glad you take the threads so seriously, however I do not appreciate words being put in my mouth that I did not say (or maybe words being typed on my posts). It was meant in a silly manner, the point was I was excited to see my ring, though it was not in my possession yet, at least on their website!

faina in Gypsy''s defense...tone is hard to get online..so reading your original post, I also thought you were serious about them using your design. That''s why I asked if it was a custom job because I thought you were serious. What I do when I''m being silly or joking online is to end the post with a (j/k or an LOL)

OMG, that''s a gorgeous ring!!! I can''t wait to see handshots.

Thank you Atroop.

Faina, I'm very glad that you post was tongue in cheek. But, no it didn't come off that way at all originally. So yes I took it seriously. Especially when you repeated the sentiment in response to MC's post, and said you were going to call the vendor about it. I didn't put any words in your mouth at all. Just took the ones you wrote at face value. That's what happens on a message board.

I am so happy you love your ring. It's beautiful, and I do hope we get some hand pics of that beauty. Wear it in the best of health.

Thanks Chiapet...I have tried,I just do not know how to take photos like the beautiful handshots on this website!

Gypsy, we will just have to agree to disagree. I do not believe that you were taking my comments at face value, I mentioned nothing about ethics, then you wrote that I said the seller was being unethical! I think sometimes people read to far into posts and make incorrect assumptions and then say, oh thats what I read. No, its not, its just thats how you (incorrectly) interpreted it.

Regardless, thank you, I will wear it in the best of health.

Faina, Gypsy wasn''t the only one who didn''t realize you were teasing. I too thought you were whining about your vendor not naming "your" design for you.

Nice ring, I hope you enjoy it for years to come.

Faina, tone is really hard to get right when reading and writing online posts. I also didn''t think you were kidding, but I''ve definitely been there on my tone not coming across in my posts, and getting misinterpreted. If you had been speaking your first post, your voice would have come across joking or ironic, or even if you said it deadpan maybe your stance or facial expression would have given you away. But with just the written words... And not knowing you personally... I read it straight.

But anyway its a lovely ring! Hope for some more close up pics when you get it in your hands!

What a stunning ring! Looking forward to more pics!
