Thank you everyone!!!! It was a long time coming, but definitely worth it!
And rhbgirl... that was how I''d always pictured it because we both love the outdoors. And we''re both more on the private side, so I didn''t want it to be in front of a lot of people. I knew I wanted to do it on a mountain-top, but I wasn''t sure which one it would end up being. When we got to the top, out on the rocks next to the cliff all by ourselves, I knew it was perfect. So I started talking about our relationship (trying not to give it away before I proposed), and she started crying just from that, ha. Then I talked about the symbolism/metaphor of the hike to our relationship, and how it was always worth it though there are ups and downs and how we ended at the peak, ect. Then after going to my backpack to slip the ring box into my pocket, I got down on my knee, and proposed right there. After some pictures and taking in the moment we headed back for a nice dinner and some relaxation at the B&B...
I''m adding a pic of the view where I proposed.![]()
Londongirl, I know what you mean... when we first looked at this setting in store it was a .5c center stone and it did kinda get swallowed up by the halo. IMHO though, it seems as though it''s really all about proportions. With this size center stone it doesn''t seem to do that at all... and your eye is really drawn to the center stone in person (which probably ''pops'' like it does due to the cut)! Anyways, it''s a huge difference from the look of the .5c we saw in the store, almost looks like a completely different ring.
And Amanda, she does love it!!! She looks at it quite a bit herself, ha. I''m glad she''s as thrilled as she is, as she wanted me to have the final say and choose the setting that ''I saw her wearing''.
