Too funny the talk about having a winter baby. I was just thinking about all you ladies last night and thinking "They are all going to have winter babies!" And I chuckled a little at that because I have been there    Hunter was born in February (got a BFP in June) and it was not much fun being pregnant that time of year and trying to get around post-partum in the snow and ice. This time is much better with a summer baby coming. So there is your consolation if nasty old AF arrives -- it means you are one month closer to a spring or summer baby instead of a lame-o winter baby! :rodent:

Here's a spin on winter babies - first 3 months you're not really out and about much anyway (and can send DH out)! At least I wasn't - mostly indoors and trying getting a handle on things. By the time they are 3/4+ months old, they are holding their head, and you can have more fun and that's when spring has arrived! Of course I have fall babies so doesn't really work out for me...very pregnant for the summer and then long winter months ahead. But fall in general is a nice time for birthdays I suppose..

And Congrats to Katy!!!! :appl:

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Thanks for all the love, everyone!!

Lizzy, I hope you jump right on the BFP train and it is full of sticky dust for everyone!!

And hopefully that train pulls around again in a couple weeks for all our other friends!!

I called and made a midwife appointment today..! There's a group of CNMs covered by my insurance, and they all have immediate physician backup if needed. I will still deliver in the hospital, but my insurance doesn't cover home birth or the local birthing center. Even though it is 3-5X cheaper than a hospital!! :nono: :nono: :nono:

Oh well. I would consider a homebirth with an independent midwife if I had a few grand to spend out of pocket, but I'm lucky enough that my insurance covers maternity and newborn 100% and I would be nuts not to take advantage of that. So this is the next best thing. :))

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Hi Janine, I will take any baby right. Don't get me wrong, all babies are blessings. This is my very thinly disguised "coping/rationalizing" mechanism. At least it makes me feel like I'm "planning this" all along. Ha ha!

Katy, sending you happy sticky dust. So excited for you!!

Lizzy, Saturday will be here before you know it. AAAAANNNNDDD you get to sleep in!!!!

I've been working from home taking care of the hubs. I got to sleep in too! Till 7AM. Tee hee. But I messed up my temps because Sis dropped the dog off and I started my day without temping like I should've. Oh well, I'm like WAY early in my cycle it doesn't matter anyway. :)

Finishing up the trim in the "offic-sery". Then prime and pick paint color. Next put up the overhead shelves, new curtains oh the dry wall needs to be replaced.

Brown, keep us posted!!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

LC, what happened to your DH? Hope he is doing ok. I am chomping at the bit to test, but I will wait till tomorrow morning. I don't know if I'll be able to sleep late as I'll be excited/anxious about testing.

Katy, sounds like you have done your research. My only other piece of advice was going to be to ask around for dr./midwife recommendations. But looks like you are on it! What are your symptoms right now? I am curious!

AFM, I'll be testing tomorrow morning. I'll be 12dpo! I really am trying to not get my hopes up as it is possible I didn't even ovulate this cycle, but I'd be lying if I didn't say that I am hoping and praying I get a BFP tomorrow morning.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Lizzy, I'll be thinking of you tomorrow and crossing my fingers for a sticky BFP!

LC, hope your husband is doing alright. You'll have to post pictures of you officery when you are finished. No worries on the temp this morning. I think we all have mornings like that.

Katy, you are really on top of things. Awesome maternity benefits by the way. Everything was covered with my old job and insurance, but I'll have to pay a bit more under my current plan. Hope you are still basking in your wonderful news and feeling well!

Brown, the wait begins! I hope the time passes quickly for you!

AFM, I'm CD5. Last month, I got a positive OPK on CD10, so I'm gearing up for some serious BD'ing starting this weekend and continuing through next week. My husband has been warned :)

Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend! Especially you, Lizzy!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Lizzy, symptoms are pretty light so far. I'm only 4.5 weeks, so it's a little early for morning sickness according to some websites. I hope I don't get it bad if it kicks in, because I would like to be able to hide it at work until at least 12 weeks! But I am *exhausted* (although the last couple days have been better than the week before) and I'm definitely bloated. But all in all, nothing too uncomfortable. (Yet? haha)

I did have the cold symptoms that lots of people say can be a symptom of pregnancy, but I think that just might be a whole lot of coincidence and not so much pregnancy related?

I have been researching midwife options for months - I desperately want to use the freestanding birthing center here, but unfortunately it would be 6K out of pocket and I just can't spend it when I could get everything I need for baby (and more!) for that kind of money and see a CNM for free. I know they are doing some birth center renovations in the hospital where my CNMs deliver, so I'm hoping that one of those renovations is adding birthing tubs - I am really interested in a water birth and would love for that to be an option! I do get ahead of myself though, first I need this bean to stick!! Although, I am told it is a poppy seed right now, not a bean ;)

And I am waiting for you to finish sleeping in, come here and tell us what that stick said!!! I have such huge hopes for a BFP wave around here!!

MP, yesss! Get that BD goin!! Pre-O boots knockin' was the charm for me!

LC, how is your hubby doing? Can't wait to hear what color you choose for the officery!

Janine, I like your spin on winter babies! Living in WI, I plan to hole up with the baby for SURE until I go back to work, which should be right as it's warming up again! Cool strategy, haha.

Dreamer - We really WANT to tell some of our closer friends (and I will tell some of my close girlfriends for sure, but they mostly don't live here to ruin the surprise accidentally) but we don't actually trust them to not tell certain other friends, and if THOSE friends find out it'll get spilled somehow and then I'll have to tell work too soon and it'll be a big debacle. So for the most part, even though I am DYING to tell our best friends who live next door... I can't! SIGH.

Anyone I haven't thanked yet - THANK YOU!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

BFP in the house!!!!!! :wavey: :appl:

I cannot believe it! I honestly had prepared myself for a negative, so it was such a huge surprise to get a positive! The only real symptoms I have is like Katy, I am super tired. I also have a stuffy nose and headaches which I had last time around, but I kept telling myself it was probably allergies, but I am glad I was wrong! I just told my DH that we certainly know how to get pregnant, let's just pray this one sticks! He is so funny and is walking around calling himself the "impregnator"! ha ha!!!

I am hoping this one is it for us ladies! I need some continuing good news over the next couple of weeks. I'll be calling my RE on Monday to set up my blood work. Hugs to everyone for their continued support...I hope the BFP wave continues!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

AHHHHHH LIZZY!!!!! :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl:

So excited to be pregnant with you! I hope it sticks for both of us and everyone else can join us!!!! Our EDD would be Jan 27th, are you just a couple days behind me?!?!?!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

I was hoping I would see a post from you this morning Lizzy! YAY! My goodness you are fertile! I'm jealous! Sending you all the dust in the world that this little one is here to stay!!!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Lizzy: :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl: Congratulations! I just KNEW you would get that BFP! Praying that this one will stick! I LOL at your DH, the Impregnator, haha.

Katy: Continued thoughts for a sticky bean! It's such an exciting time! I know it's so hard not to share but 12 weeks will be here before you know it! It doesn't feel like time is moving that fast but it will. At least that's how I felt when I was pregnant with DD.

MP: Oh how I wish I can get a + Opk that early! You have a great plan! :naughty:

LC: Hope yor DH is feeling better! Your officery seems to be coming together. Sounds like a fun project! I love that term "officery." :))

Brown: I hope you're next to get that BFP! We'll be cheering you on!

AFM: I got to sleep in for an additional hour. The crazy TTC'er in me had to get up at my normal time to temp and then I went back to sleep. It wasn't much but I'll take it any day  Spending the weekend with the in-laws. They're lovely people so it'll be fun!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Lizzy BFP!!! :appl: :appl: :appl: I'm doing more Eagle poses for you and your family. LOL!! SO funny about the "Impregnator!" title! I love it! Take care of that little eggie, lady. And give your little man some extra squeezes for good luck. :)

Ally, ahhh!!! Sleeping in indeed! I do the wake up-time-go back to sleep thing too on the weekends. Hey we don't even get outta bed right? I still need to call the officery an office to my DH otherwise he might think I'm CRAZY. :) I mean, I *am* but ....

Katy! Gotta love the Midwest winters, eh? Well a lot of my friends who just had babies say that they're stuck in the house pretty much the first 6wks or so. Hopefully by then we'll get a nice warmer spring next year. (I'm in Chicago, so our weather is a little bit like yours).

Waiting for the paint to dry to choose between two different shades. Sis is coming over to help me pick too. Me asking DH will probably go something like:
Me: Which color do you like better?
DH: Um, they're both blue.
Me: Yeah, I know but *which* blue do you like?
DH: I don't get it, they both look the same to me.
Me: No, this one's brighter (motioning left) and this one has more green in it (motioning right)
DH: Um... still both blue.
Me: <sigh, shaking head> OK, I'll just ask Sis.
<end scene>

Brown, I'm thinking about you sweetie!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

I was just checking in on everyone and what a day to do it!

Katy: Congrats, I am so excited for you. Glad that you are felling pretty good so far.

Lizzy: How amazing that you got a BFP this morning! I am keeping my fingers crossed that your numbers look fantastic at the RE.

Sticky dust to both of you girls!!!!! :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl:

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Lizzy!! YAY for the BFP!! Okay, I am sending the stickiest dust ever to you! Stick, little bean, stick!

Hi Katy,
I will be nine weeks on Monday. I have been sick as a dog for the last 3 weeks! Yesterday, I felt much better which makes me worry that there is something wrong. Probably just being paranoid...

Thanks for asking after my family. Mom and baby are home and doing pretty well. My sister's incision isn't healing though so the doctors are a little worried about that.

Once again congrats on your little bean!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

:appl: :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl: congrats Lizzy and Katy!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Oh you ladies are so sweet! Thank you all so much! I have a very anxious week ahead of myself watching my betas. So I appreciate all of your support. I am praying that this will be the one for us!

Bella, thank you so much and for stopping by!

BB, thank you and great to see you here! 9 weeks already! I am sorry you have been sick but it will all be worth it. Don't be too worried about the sickness subsiding a little. It will do that at some point, so hopefully the worst is behind you now. So glad to hear your sister and nephew are home now. I hope she continues healing so she can just relax and enjoy her new little man!

NEL, thank you for all the sticky dust! I need it sister! My little man has been kissing my belly lately, so I hope it is a sign of good things to come!

LC, bring on the eagle poses!!!! Thank you so much! Your hypothetical paint conversation with your DH sounds exactly like mine with my DH. He always gets a kick out of me when I call colors - teal, taupe, lavendar. He's like "it's blue, brown, and purple!!!" ha ha!!! They just don't get it!

Ally, thank you so much!!! I am so glad you got that extra hour of sleep too! You will need your rest for all of the BD'ing that's ahead of you! ;))

Monkey, thank you! Thank you for all of the sticky dust. I certainly hope this one is meant to be!

Katy, it is so exciting! Today I am 12dpo. You are 13dpo right? So I would guess my due date is 1/28 then based on that. Because I didn't have a true day 1, due to my issues last cycle, I think they will probably calculate due date based on days post ovulation and then confirm it when I get my first ultrasound. I wish you the best. I hope everything goes smoothly and we both have sticky beans so that we can enjoy this road together!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

I assume I O'd on May 6th, so I'm actually 15DPO based on that! I have a short LP, so CD1 was April 18th, which would traditionally put my due date at Jan 23rd, but since I O pretty late it looks like the actual EDD is Jan 27th.

Right now I'm just trying hard not to over-think every little twinge and cramp and hope like hell that I don't get too sick in the coming weeks!! =)

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

How wonderful Lizzy! Third time is the charm, here is hoping. I will be doing a modified eagle pose for you too ::) Modified because I can't stand like that :rodent:

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Congrats Lizzy!!! Lots of sticky dust around!

Just an update- I got my period this morning. (That feels weird to say on a message board) We are looking at it as the glass is half full as now I can just use OPKs religiously this cycle with the temping and BDing every day/other day. I did temp this past one, but it was impossible to pinpoint based on that. We are keeping our doc appointment to discuss options since if this cycle continues it gives us maybe 4 chances in 12 months to have a baby and we would prefer to have better odds and DH is going to come since it is just a discussion appointment. Fingers crossed though that maybe my body is now going to become more regular and on a shorter cycle.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

sba, I'm hoping your body becomes more regular. I totally know what you mean about wanting to up your odds by having more cycles per year. I feel the same way

Lizzy and Katy still thinking about you ladies :)

Did some retail therapy today with Sis. Always fun. DH didn't go and he thinks we're super weird because we like to show & tell whenever we go shopping. It's so much fun!!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Lizzy - Congratulations!! I'm praying that all goes well for you this pregnancy. Your husband certainly is the impregnator. Ha!

Katy - Thinking about you, and hoping for a good pregnancy for you as well.

Monkey - you have a full week of BDing ahead of you! I hope this is your month!

LC - the "officery" cracks me up! I hope your DH is recovering well.

Ally - glad you got to sleep in a little on Saturday.

Blackberry - thanks for checking in with us and I hope you are doing well. Sorry you've been so sick.

sba - hooray for fresh starts.

AFM - 5dpo. We hit 4 of the 5 days between O-3 and O+1, so hopefully this is our month. I would love to jump on the BFP train! Our anniversary weekend was amazing and super relaxing and we have another trip to look forward to this weekend. Going to Colorado for a week!

I hope you ladies all had a fabulous weekend and here's to the week flying by!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Well... I guess I'm back to square one ladies :((

I started bleeding this morning. They drew blood for a beta, but now I'm cramping, too.

This totally sucks!! :((

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Oh Katy, my heart just sunk. I am so sorry to hear that. Even though it's not looking good, I'm still holding out hope for you. Please know we are all here to support you.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Katy: My heart just sank reading your recent update. I hope your little bean will be a sticky one and the bleeding is just part of the early pregnancy and that it stops soon. Hoping for good beta results. Sending lots of hugs and sticky thoughts to you.

Lizzy: Continuing to send sticky thoughts to you too! Hope you have good betas also!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Oh Katy, I gasped a little out loud when I read your post. I am praying your betas will stay up. I have no doubt you are scared, but I'm holding out any hope I can. I'm sorry you're going through this :(

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Sadly, I'm bleeding enough and hurting enough to know that this is definitely a miscarriage. At least it's early so I hope it won't be much worse than a bad period.

Your support means the world to me though, I really adore you ladies and am so glad to count you all as friends and have you along for this sometimes joyful and sometimes difficult journey to motherhood.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Katy, I'm so sorry.

BB, good to hear from you. I'm surprised you are already 9 weeks. Time sure flies. Hopefully, you can put morning sickness behind you soon. Keep us updated on your progress.

Lizzy, hope you are doing well.

Brown, glad to hear you are doing well. Fun to have a vacation to look forward to (and possibly a BFP while you are away). Sound like you maximized your chances this month, which is great!

LC, yay for retail therapy. I could definitely use some of that, but we are really trying to be disciplined and save for when we finally have a little one on the way. My spring/summer options are pretty thin right now. Trying to remember what I even wore last year!

sba, yay for a new cycle! I hope your next one is nice and short, or better yet, that you get a BFP.

AFM, nothing too exciting. Hopefully gearing up for a smiley face later this week and trying to get in as much BD'ing as possible. If it doesn't happen this month, we are considering holding off TTC for awhile while I look for a new job. It's a tough call because I am so ready for a baby, but it is happening as quickly as I would like, and I need to decide if I am willing to stay where I'm at for at least another 9 months.
