Home The Official TTC Thread!

I''m losing my mind...I totally wrote out a whole post...and apparently didn''t hit submit. I am not a bright light!!!

DD - I think it will seem real when I hear a heartbeat. Don''t want to get TOO excited...so many things can happen.

February - 9 DPO is still really early. I got BFNs on 10 and 11 DPO...so don''t throw in the towel yet!

Dani - Thanks for the congrats and the warm wishes!

Thanks HIL! I was surprised at how many "classic" symptoms I had...and I''m glad it turned out to be prego, instead of my mind playing LOTS of tricks on me.

Fisher - I wouldn''t really worry about the variation in your temps. Mine varied as much as .7 degrees before I O''d...so don''t lose any sleep about it.

Lisa - Thanks!

Vizsla - Alaska sounds like a plan to me!! Honestly, if it is something he wants to do before you get prego, then I say do it! Of course, you could always go to Alaska after you are knocked up! And thanks for the congrats!!!

LIA - Thanks so much! I''m going to head over that aways soon...and thanks on the cramping info. It isn''t as bad today, although I did feel it a bit when I was on the elliptical this morning. Poor uterus. I think it is in a state of shock too!

Thanks Cara! Dust is always appreciated!!!

And thanks ChinaCat! I appreciate the nonjinxing! =)

Thanks AM!

Amber - I hope you are doing alright. I''m sorry you are having family crap. That just stinks. Please, vent away if you need to! You''re in my thoughts!

LL-
Just popping in to say CONGRATS!!!!!

Ok, back to my vacation.

Robbie, different calendar. It''s under the calendar tab across the top of the website, just below the banner.

I know what the green and the orange "eye ball" circles mean, but not the white or black ones. It''s probably nothing.

Wow, I''d never clicked on the calendar tab because I thought it was the same calendar you get when you start. Just a guess, but on my calendar it looks like they mark the possible last days of my LP. No idea what the black dot would be though...

Crazy, must be a lifelong mystery, then.

Actually, I think they are moon phases. The dates correlate to the new moon (08/01) and the full moon (08/16). Not positive though, as I don't use FF.

I did a google search and found a site that shows the phases of the moon for August. http://www.space.com/spacewatch/sky_calendar.html

Am04, you are right that is about the moons.

I''ll test again in the morning but I''m pretty sure I''m out. I''m pretty crampy tonight!

Delurking to say, don''t worry Icekid, you''re not alone! I, too, seem to have caught the baby fever somethin'' terrible lately!

I''ve been lurking here the past few weeks envying you ladies who are actually TTC!!

I''m working in the level I newborn nursery right now....*sigh*...we''ve got TONS of brand new perfect babies right now (our census today was 56!) Is it bad that all I wanna do is hold the babies? Forget the medical stuff, just let me hold them!!!
HOUMedGal- you too?!?! Ahh we must be getting to that age

Seeing those precious tiny babies all day can''t help us either! Have you looked into your residency program''s maternity policy yet? I have no idea what I''d be looking at to go through a pregnancy during training. I don''t start my advanced program until next summer, and I don''t really want the FIRST question I have for them to be regarding taking time off to have a kid. Also, I really don''t want to take time off from training and graduate late which I guess would probably happen unless you only take off your vacation time after the birth. Tough decisions! It sounds like you and your hubs are going to go for it while you''re still a resident though?? Keep me updated

Ebree-

I just saw in another thread that you are from Dallas? Where are you now? I grew up in Dallas. I miss the 'old' Northpark too!

Ok, back to regularly scheduled baby talk!

China-

I grew up around White Rock Lake! Both of my parents still live there (separately). We haven't had a chance to go back since Christmas of last year, but are planning to head down after New Year's next year (when plane ticket prices are cheaper!). Where did you grow up? Remember when Northpark used to be small and cozy? Now, it's so large and fancy! It was fancy back then, but now, it's all designer names. And I thought it was fancy with a Tiffany & Co! Makes sense, as it's so close to Highland Park.

5 DPO today. Is it too early to start experiencing symptoms? I am ZONKED today. I've had two naps, one 30 minutes and one two hours! I know it's probably too early to start feeling anything, unless I'm pregnant with quadruplets or something.
9.gif

Who's next to test? Feb?

Ebree- Alot of women swear they had symptoms starting at 1DPO! So I wouldn''t put some symptoms aside just because you are 5DPO! How was your weekend trip?

I''ll test every morning until 1)I get a positive or 2) AF arrives. I''m not feeling to great myself. A tad queasy and picky about my food.
14.gif
Plus crampy. I''m just a ball of fun tonight!

It was fun, thank you for asking! We had a situation with the hotel, but tried to keep it from ruining our trip. Seattle is such a beautiful city. I wish we had more time there. Good thing it''s only a 3 hour drive! We''ll definitely return.

As for your BFN, 9 DPO is definitely too early to rule out a pregnancy. Keep testing, and good luck!

And big hugs to Amber. Hope everything''s okay, love!

Ahhh!

I totally had a feeling too, what with your cervix position and that watery mucus....yaaaaay!!! Congratulations!!!

Yep, me too, most definitely!! LOL!

I got all done with my work today, and had a bit of time left before I had to leave to go to my dr''s appt (my yearly OB/GYN appt) so I just hung out in the nursery holding one of the babies....*sigh*....they''re so freakin cute I can''t stand it!!

Soooo I went for my yearly appt, had my pap and everything, and told my doc that we''ll probably start TTC sometime during the next year! Eeek! I''m thinking of going off BC in March or so....So not only did I leave with 5 months worth of NuvaRing samples (i love my doc) but she also recommended that I go ahead and start PNV''s, and gave me a month''s worth of samples of 5 different ones to try. So I''ve got Prenate DHA, OB Complete DHA, CitraNatal 90 DHA, PrimaCare Advantage, and Tandem DHA. Anyone take/like any of those??

My doc is excited, and she thinks that the timing sounds perfect as far as my training goes (if I go off BC in March, at the earliest the baby would come halfway thru my second year of training), which makes me even MORE excited!! Not that I really need any encouragement at this point, ha!

Residency will actually be a pretty good time for me to have one. My program offers 6 weeks paid maternity leave, and it''s apparently not too difficult to get more unpaid leave if you need it. Of course, my training would be delayed by those 6 weeks, so I''d finish up 6 weeks late, but it''s VERY common in my program for folks to finish late for one reason or another. It''s pretty much understood at my program that many of the women are gonna have babies...there''s a running joke about the line that forms in front of our Program Director''s office during early to mid second year of residents who are announcing their new pregnancies to him.
3.gif
I guess that''s one perk in Pediatrics...everyone understands your love for babies/children!

Amber, sorry for your crappy family drama. Hope you''re doing OK!

I''ll be testing tomorrow morning...I''ll be 10 dpo. I don''t think this is my cycle, just don''t *feel* pregnant, but I guess time will tell. In any case, AF is due Wednesday so I should know soon.

Thanks Pandora! Tested this morning with an early-pregnancy-test strip and it was a BFN. But AF isn''t here yet either...

Good morning ladies! I am at 8 DPO and don''t "feel" pregnant either...feh (as littlelysser would say). I have soreness in my breasts and have been very tired, but can''t say those are symptoms. I won''t test until the end of the week.

Hey everyone...

Thanks for the congrats Charger and Erica!

BB, Am, NYC and Feb - good vibes going your way!!

Amber - I hope you are alright!

I''m still a bit freaked out.

And now, of course, I have something NEW to worry about...

So I took a digital test this morning, again. Still prego. Took one of the tests from Early Pregnancy Tests.com and there was maybe the faintest faintest line ever.

Should the BFP have gotten darker? I''m confused.

DH thinks the tests are crap..since it was the only test that didn''t show a BFN two days ago.

Do you guys think I''m worrying for nothing?

I feel liike a total stalker because I am on this board every hour of every day!! But, I finally have some things to say, so here goes.

First off - I had never seen that calendar either. And it is very weird. Those little eyeballs are super-freaky, and I don''t like them. I am never clicking there again. And, since my calendar has the same circles on the same days as you, I''ll agree with everyone else that it is the moon.

LL - Congratulations!

So, I read this thread constantly because it is like a soap opera! I can''t wait to see what is happening in the world of the TTCers. But, it''s better than a soap opera because it is REAL!

I also wanted to thank everyone because I have also learned so much - like that I need to have a digital test on hand to verify that faint positive line that everyone seems to get. I''m kind of into coupons and sales and deals, so I had been watching for a deal on a digital and finally snagged one last week. I also have 10 pregnancy strips from babywishes.com. I am so ready to pee. And whoever gave the twoweekwait website...that is addicting.

As for me, well, we''re actively TTCing. I have some friends who read the board and know my userid, so I don''t want to give away too much!! But once I''m pregnant and out there, I am sure I''ll be all over that pregnancy thread...

Good luck to everyone trying! I''ll probably continue to just read instead of post, but just know that I''m thinking about you. I even tell my husband ''You know how many twins are expected on pricescope?'' and ''Guess what! Someone else is pregnant!'' and ''Those girls are so funny.'' Amber - you are hilarious. I laughed the time you peed on your shoe.

Charting question...

Your temps should rise AFTER you O, not before? Correct? Mine just look like a pretty straight line at the moment...

I''ve had EWCM now for 4 days in a row... DH and I are seriously knackered
20.gif
- FF seems to think tomorrow should be O day, with a constant 27/28 cycle length it should be tomorrow or Thursday I think. So, I''m presuming that we keep going till Thursday. How many days after O should you keep BDing?

well tested this morning and it was a BFN....now i have cramps and i know af
29.gif
is on her way....theres always next month. i found a good site for keeping track of ovulation w/out the eyes: yourdays.com i guess i''ll be back there to see when my best chances are for next month.

good luck to the rest of the may baby
hopefuls!

Mornin''!

NYC - sorry for the pending AFF™. I know that feeling. it sucks. Hopefully she''ll come soon so you can get started on your next cycle ;)

NYC, am04, feb2003 - GL GL GL! It ain''t over till.....

Pandora - I would DTD Day of O, and maybe 1DPO if you really want to cover your bases, but in theory, you want those lickle swimmers to be there waiting to catch the egg. Keep BD''ing until O is confirmed. That''s the best you can do
36.gif
Looks like you''re O''ing a day or two before Meeeee! Wanna knit together, lol.

Welcome brgirl!

Lysser - you''re worrying for nothing *wink* There is no such thing as a false positive. You''re KTFU girl! YEY! I''d go to your doc to confirm with a blood test and get your HCG levels documented. Let us know!

I''m currently CD11. I''m leaving tomorrow morning for 5 days in NYC. I''m scheduled to O (with HIL my cycle buddy, non?) on CD14-ish.
Here is my question. Has anyone figured out the best way to adjust your temps to accommodate any change in wake times? I would love to be able to track O day regardless of ''vacation time''. Thanks!
2.gif

Morning ladies! I'm back from our vacation in LA. Feels good to be back home, but sucks having to be back at work. I feel like I have missed so much while being gone. It was quite stressful on our vacation because I carried everything with me there - preseed, FRER OPKs, CBE digital OPKs. I knew I would be fertile on our trip, which was good because it gave us time to do the deed.

LL - Congrats on your BFP!!! Hope you have a wonderful and healthy 9 months!

I need to go back and read everyone's post.

I'm on cd 22 today and FF just gave me crosshairs today. It is saying my O day was cd 17, which would make me 5 dpo. I don't think it's right. I think my O day was on cd 19, which would make me 3 dpo. What do you ladies think? Here is my current chart:

Attachments

I''m no expert, but I would guess you are correct - that O day was CD19.

Dreamer? Our resident expert should weigh in on this one (LOL)
25.gif

hey hey hey, how''s everyone doing this lovely morning?

LL- are you saying that the early pregnancy test.com tests haven''t given you a BFP? I have like a million of those in my drawer right now
40.gif

Mela- I think you might be a few days ahead of me this time... I''m looking at Monday the 1st (ish) as O day. We''ll still be knitting together though, I''m thinking hats and booties, you?
2.gif
I''m jealous of your NY trip! I''m dying to get back, it''s been way too long.
Am, NYC, Feb- it ain''t over til its over, I hope AFF stays away.
BB and EBree- baby dust to you both! About half way through, right? "just keep knitting, just keep knitting" (ha, like Dori on Finding Nemo: just keep swimming...)
Radiant- Hmmm... it looks like CD19 to me too. Have you tried switching between FAM, Advanced and Research to see if it changes? Good Luck! Did you ever figure out if your therm. remembers past temps?

My status: CD 11, waiting for the weekend to dance my heart out.
My bro, SIL and nephew are coming for a visit this weekend too. I''m so excited, I haven''t seen them since my wedding and my nephew has changed so much in the last 4.5 months! He''s 16 mo. and they are expecting nephew #2 at the end of the year, I am trying to get them to move back here so our kiddos can hang out.

Amber- hope all is well with you... check in if you can.

LL- Different tests (esp. different brands of tests) have different sensitivity levels, and different amounts of dye, so don''t worry! Hang in there, girl- this is the most stressful time. Big hugs!

LL I responded to your worries on the preggo thread...."Don''t worry, be happy mon!"
Pandora I would DTD until ovulation is confirmed, which is about 3 days after O-day... yes its a PITA but sometimes O-day can be confusing so better safe than to miss it!
Radiant well you definitely O''d! And your bases are covered whether it ws CD 17 or CD 19, so this is all academic... but I think that you might have O''d on CD 17 like FF says and here is why: the temp on CD-18 in indeed higher that the previous 6... it is only 1/10th of a degree, but some women have a slow rise pattern. Also, the temp on CD-19 could be a fall-back rise, which is also common... that''s when you have a temp drop after O and before the sustained rise. Also, the temp on CD-20 is barely higher than the temp on CD 18, which doesn''t really qualify as a "temp shift" KWIM?? Anyways, my guess is to trust FF, but in the end it doesn''t matter. You can always POAS as if you were 5 and 3 DPO!
