I agree, I love charting, it is really wonderful. Except when it is totally annoyingDate: 8/20/2008 12:27:57 PM

No worries, DD, it didn''t come off as mean. I think I''m just going to have to wait and see. I don''t want to waste a test. I just get all freaked out when things are different. One of the reasons I like charting is because before charting I was freaking out just about every month because I thought something that month was different than any other month. Turned out I just have a really bad memory, LOL. So it helps me to be able to compare what''s going on with what''s happened in my previous cycles.
I noticed that about your CM on your chart... I also had issues with this and found that drinking 8oz. of water per hour really increased it, as did using the old puppetmaster technique for sampling. It doesn''t really matter, since even if it is hard to sample there is probably lots right up by your cervix or even inside it, but it means it is really important to DTD as close to ovulation as possible, as with less CM the spermies may not be able to live for days and days. From your chart, if you O''d on CD-16, then you are probably good since you DTD on CD-15!Date: 8/20/2008 12:21:52 PM

DD - thanks for smacking some sense into me. I normally just go by FF to determine when I O (and CM although I don''t have a whole lot) and use the Answer OPKs as a back up. The CBE OPKs were totally throwing me off... We will BD once more tonight and see what temps I get tomorrow.
I have been trying to drink as much water as possible (drinking some right now actually) - thankfully there''s a water cooler next to my office. However, my bladder is tiny, so I''m not always the best with keeping up it. I''ve also been using Pre-Seed although, DH doesn''t like it. I said I would try to use only half next time to see if that helps.Date: 8/20/2008 12:41:08 PM

BB- same here! I went through every page on early pregnancy symptoms at the twoweekwait.com and I''ve done countless searches on early preggo symptoms, chances of conceiving on last day of oing, etc. etc. Crazy! But funDate: 8/20/2008 2:35:32 PM

Thanks Mela - it doesn''t help that I keep reading that early pregnancy symptoms link I posted yesterday looking for any signs of something (I know, I''m pathetic)! I really want this to be the cycle...and I''m not feeling anything so, I''m just sitting tight, BDing every night until I confirm O and praying for a BFP!![]()

Hey everyone. Not much here- three new friends got pregnant randomly and are all excited about getting to share the fun- always fun to be a part of those conversations with your uterus shooting out dust and cobwebs while it's hammering up a 'for lease' sign. Bah.
On another note, was feeling bitter and spinstery, if possible while married- and I blogged about staking claim on our baby girl name. I feel bad, but with all those friends and family expecting, I really just want to keep the name we have chosen. Is it okay that I post it here?
Selfish Me
Yes, I've been away for some time now. We have passed yet another month with the frightful appearance of AF, or my period in less jokey terms. The reason I'm here right now is a selfish one, and one that will surely come off as highly bratty.
I'd like to reserve a name. Technically two names, a first and a middle. Now, I know sharing your future children's names aren't 'done' in this day and age for fear of the name stalkers (People who will take the names you've so carefully chosen for your children, and then act like they came up with it themselves), but I must put this out there for anyone who is reading or listening:
I stake claim to this name. Paul and I have had this choice in our hearts for the 5 years we've been together, we've made up nicknames for it, and have imagined the child who would possess it. Since we're not yet lucky enough to have an infant in the works, I'd kindly like to have any of my friends and family take pity upon us, and let us keep this name for our own.
Ready? It's Piper Jane. PJ for short. She'll be a dark haired, light-skinned little girl with blue eyes that quickly turn a light brown like her parents. She'll possibly be a little chubby, because how can she not coming from parents like us? It's only realistic to assume so. When she gets older, her hair will turn longish and wavy, to be sloppily parted in the middle into pigtails, since she is her mother's daughter. Piper will love to read and be read to, and will relish being her grandpa's girl. She'll hopefully take after her father, and along with a propensity to care too much, will be able to catch a ball without having it bounce off her forehead first. We hope she'll be smart, giving and loving, trustworthy and energetic, and most of all, happy.
I know it's unfair to try to lay claim to a name for a child that hasn't been conceived yet, but we've already put so much love and happiness into that name that it would be a shame to have to give it up due to a uncooperative uterus.

Feb2003 - the thing I find absolutely amazing is that some women feel every little bit of the process!I think one woman on the very first page said she ''felt the egg release in the evening'' - I was thinking, ''WOW...that''s incredible!'' It''s also interesting to read what other women do after BDing...one woman said she BD''d on like 5 days and after each time, she laid in bed for at least 2 hours (sometimes the whole rest of the night) with her legs propped up under 2 pillows. Now, I''ve laid still for about 15-30 min., but 2 hours or all night!!?? Impressive stuff I''m telling ya....![]()

Hey Fishy, don''t knock the pill too much! It does a lot of great stuff for you too. For instance, one of the studies I read showed that having taken the pill for a long time (I think it was 8+ years?) statistically significantly reduces your chance of having a miscarriage. Nobody knows why yet. And then there''s the usual stuff: 70% lower chance of having ovarian cancer, 50% lower chance of endometrial cancer, lower blood loss = less anemia = more iron for your gestating bebes (and YOU!) when the time comes...anemia is very bad for pregnant ladies, 20% lower chance of benign ovarian tumors, ovarian cysts and fibroids, all of which can result in surgeries that could affect your fertility.
Plus, the newest studies are suggesting that the correlation once suggested between breast cancer and the pill is not reliable.
So, sure, it can make your cycles wonky for a while, but if it saves you from having cancer in your reproductive organs, or from having a miscarriage, or from anemia in pregnancy, then hey, that''s good stuff!
Just my morning shout out to the good ol'' BCP! Not all the long term effects are bad.
Fishy, I haven''t been totally keeping up with this thread. Did you ever get to talk to a RESPECTFUL doctor about your crazy long cycle? Also, if you go on FF, there are lots and lots of charts of looooong cycles with happy BFP at the end!![]()

in unrelated news, I too suffer those bitter betty days where I smile through gritted teeth at all those 'accidental pregnancies', 'perfect pregnancies' and in general, those who've never had to work for something in their lives. Rarrh. Those are the days when I'm 5 yrs old saying 'But it's not FAIR!'. sigh. Then I shake it off and do what I do best; force myself to re-focus on the positive.![]()
