NYC - Gawd knows I do. I was actually unable to wear my wedding ring and ering earlier this week! Clothes were tight. Thankfully, it as begun to subside...so I''ve got them on again today. I''ve never had that happen before! Freaked me out a bit!

Lindsay - I have no idea about the OPKs. Sorry!

Pandora and Lulu- Thank you for the good wishes!

Pandora- I'm so sorry AF showed. It's hard not to get so incredibly psyched the first month. I hate to say it, but the bitterness toward AF after the first time you try helps you cope better with the next cycle. It did for me, at least.

So today at work, I'm feeling fine (a little hot, actually- temperature-wise) and some teeny, tiny little thing sends me into a mini-fit. First, I got irrationally angry (silently), and then I had to rush to the bathroom to wipe away tears. WHAT was that all about? I'm guessing it's the Clomid.

I'm trying to get an appt. with my OBGYN tomorrow so she can measure my lining via ultrasound. She's SO busy and is only in three days a week. If I didn't adore her, I would have switched doctors long ago. In the meantime, I'm taking 81mg of baby aspirin a day to help "thicken" the lining since, as Lisa has mentioned, Clomid can thin it. When searching for "uterine thickness" last night, I read that someone's acupuncturist said orgasms do the trick. They bring more blood flow to the area. So between aspirin and some fun
31.gif
, hopefully it'll look nice and thick. Ewwwwww.

Yay! I finally, finally, FINALLY have an end to my forever long cycle. This time around, I''m committing to temping so I can try to figure out when I''m ovulating, since it''s hard to tell with long cycles and it cuts down on the number of opportunities you get in a number of months.

I feel so relieved. Maybe just maybe it was stress related, because only in the last several days have I really come down from my high anxiety relating to the accident, and my cuts and burns are healing and it finally seems like something behind me now, rather than something I''m dealing with and talking to insurance about every single day.

Who knows, but whoo hoo buddy am I ever so glad to be in a new cycle. Yay!
9.gif

Once again, when have I ever been so excited to have a cycle begin again? Never ever. The things wanting a baby makes you excited about... aye! Body juices, tenderness and twinges.... It almost makes us sound nutty!!

I swear the directions that came with my basal therm. stated that I needed to put it on TOP of my tongue, far back, in the "pocket area of my tongue. There was a picture diagram thingy, which was good, since I didn''t know my tongue had a *pocket* on top.

Now, my charting (which I gave up on half way through) never showed anything, and just random numbers at random times.

But now I''m reading that the temp. is supposed to be taken UNDER your tongue, in the deep pocket on one side or the other to where your tongue attaches to the back of your throat. That''s a pocket I know about!

So, I wonder if I was doing it wrong all along and that''s why I was getting crazy numbers all over the place.

Where am I supposed to be putting that thing when I''m half asleep in the morning?

LOL Fisher, that might explain it for sure! I''m so glad you figured it out before this cycle, that would have been so frustrating! I usually just jam it back as far as it will go UNDER my tongue on one side. I find about half the thermometer is in my mouth this way?? Anyways, happy temping!

Yay Fisher, come and join me and possibly Mela (still have my fingers crossed for you) on CD1!

Why does fertility friend''s chart not go up to the 97 degree mark? Isn''t that where your temp should be? Now I''m confused again. Aye!

I feel like I''m in geometry again, trying so hard to understand!

Yes, Pandora, and let''s hope you don''t have two cycles in the length it takes me to have ONE this time around!

Okay nevermind; the chart changed when I added today''s temp. It had been like the low 75s to 76.9. I was thinking, "Man, am I screwed up for real!" But maybe not.

Yeah, with those temps you''d be dead! LOL! I''m so glad that AF came and that you now have the thermometer figured out!

Quick update...CD 20. FF has my O date as CD 17. Which makes me VERRRRY happy! Yay!

Now I'm knitting away.

On an unrelated note, DH was up late last night doing some work. He took the dogs out around 2a.m. and while he was out with Izzie (the big orange dog), Izz found a little baby squirrel that fell out of its nest. To our surprise, Izzie didn't even really mess with the baby...he just sort of sniffed it.

So DH comes upstairs AND WAKES ME UP KNOWING THAT I TEMP AT 6am, to tell me there is a baby squirrel in our yard, and that the squirrel must have fallen out of his nest in one of our trees. I'll admit, I was a bit out of it, and also trying to go back to sleep so I can get my three uninterrupted hours! Anyway, so DH then goes outside again, and for whatever reason, takes a couple pictures of the baby and woke me up AGAIN to show them to me. Long story short, DH did a bunch of research and read that if a baby squirrel falls out of the nest the best thing to do is to put it in an open shoe box on one the branches of the tree it fell out of - which is closer to mom and away from predators...so DH puts the baby in a shoe box in the tree ...and that squirrel was SCREAMING for its mom. Long story longer...when DH checked the box this morning, the baby was gone! Looks like mama squirrel came and got him. DH was glad, but commented that raising a baby squirrel would probably be "fun."

So that was my exciting evening. I could have kind of killed DH for repeatedly waking me up regarding the squirrel drama...but really his attempt at being the squirrel whisperer was just too cute...

Yay, Fisher! I''m glad that your super long cycle is finally over!

Not knowing when I O''d is driving me nuts! Not just because I don''t know if we really have a shot this cycle, but also because I feel like I''m back in high school since I really don''t know when AFF will show up! Every little cramp (I''ve been cramping since 4 dpo) sends me running to the bathroom to see if I was way off on my O date guess and AFF has actually started.

This is a quick drive by posting - sorry to be brusque! AFF due today and man is she ever charging in with the symptoms. yowzers. I''m totally out this month. I can literally feel her coming down the chute.

There is so much to comment on, O''ing, squirrels, thermometers, OPKs, Clomid - yikes I can''t get into it all. just know I''m thinking of you ladies and wishing you all the success in the world.

I''m renovating my kitchen this weekend (DIY backsplash) so I''m "out" this weekend. Have a good one and talk later!!!!! xo''s

LittleL: Hip Hip Hurray for the O -

Confirmation is certainly a good way to kick off your weekend. And you and I are knitting partners. I''m at DPO 3/4. Got to say that so far it''s dragging...I think it''s because i''ve gotten myself frothed up a bit due to the fact that we actually did things *right* this time and I have nothing interesting to distract me - at least it''s friday. your story was really amusing. sounds like DH has some paternal instincts
3.gif

mela: here''s to a nice and normal next cycle. and definitely post pics of your DIY backsplash. I can''t wait to see it.

ebree: hormones. blah. so aspirin helps build uterine lining? is 81mg the dosage that is safe for potentially pregnant women?

What you can and cannot take is awfully confusing. I have sporadic allergies and headaches and I''m just thinking that I''ll abstain from taking anything.

Tacori - If you''re lurking out there I know that you''ve previously posted a great website for determining what to avoid/take while pregnant - would you mind re-posting? Many Thanks!!

Fisher: phew! very relieved to hear that your BBT is not in the 70s!!

I think the website Tacori used is www.safefetus.com. It is very helpful.

I''m trying to catch up on everyone. The Olympics and work this week have kept me busy. Staying up until midnight and getting up at 5 to work takes away my PS time!

LL- I had no idea squirrels had nests. And I grew up in the country, there were plenty of squirrels around. How did I not know that?? Anyway, totally cute story, even if you were trying to sleep. Sounds like your DH is "nesting" hee-hee

Mela-sorry about AFF. Seriously, will she ever learn???

Robbie-welcome and good luck!

Dreamer-glad to see you are still hanging around here. Wasn''t someone else dead when they got KTFU??

Fisher-glad you had an end to that long cycle. Hopefully they''ll become shorter.

Pandora-welcome and good luck!

EBree-Here''s hoping for a thick lining!!

So, a little update. I had a hysterosalpingiogram on Monday. It''s a radiology exam and they inject dye through your cervix and it should go out the fallopian tubes to show if they are open. After an extremely stressful start (the lady in admitting was a complete witch and made me 15 minutes late) I got good news, the right tube is open. Which is what I was expecting but you never know. (for those of you who are new, I had an ectopic pregnancy in December which ruptured so they had to remove the left tube) so, my doctor told me to try for 2-3 more months and then go back to see him. He actually said there is a high rate of spontaneous pregnancy after this procedure. Which I have also heard but can''t really find any studies on.
So, I''m on CD17 and don''t think I''ve o''d yet. Hopefully today because we have been doing the f*tastic all week and I''m going to be away this weekend. And my CBEFM has shown "low" consistently, I''ve not gotten a peak or high but I did have EWCM until yesterday, so I''m expecting a temp rise by tomorrow. Maybe I got a bad batch of test strips? I''ve been using the thing for almost a year but I re-read the directions just to be sure I wasn''t doing something wrong.

Good luck to everyone!

So yeah. I''m bored as DH is playing Madden, and I just tried to rename all our Hawaii files (Ha,not so easy when there are 500 of them- how many ''kauairooster'' pics can I have? TOO MANY) but then I got tired of it and am itching to see what''s on the Olympics. I want to see my boyfriend in action, with the body of a god and a face like a bag of hammers...

All I ate for dinner tonight was about 4 small roasted red potatoes. And I keep chugging from a tremendously bitter jug of grapefruit juice from Trader Joes. It''s like I never learn my lesson. ''Hmmm, I''m thirsty. Oh! Juice! *ACK, that crap hurts my jaw*'' ten minutes later.... ''Hmmmm, what is there to drink? Oooh! Grapefruit juice! *crap that is painful*'' And on and on for about two hours. Speaking of.... I''m thirsty again. In case you were wondering, yes, I was that kid who ALWAYS took a bite of the unsweetened baker''s chocolate, DESPITE seeing the previous attempt''s teethmarks still in it like a freaking tooth scrape on a dinosaur bone.

CD25 here, 10dpo, just toodling along not peeing on sticks or anything. *ahem, that one from today didn''t count*

Amber, tell him to leave the goggles and cap on.

Hey there lulu! Good to know I have a cycle buddy!

And I hear you on doing things right this time - we actually did a good job of BDing around the relevant day! So I''m extra nervous/excited.

Here is a link to the page regarding the medications - www.safefetus.com

Tiffany - I''m glad things look good! Sorry about the admin wench! Hope you join the knitting club soon! Also, please tell Triffany I said hi. For the record, I still giggle about that every now and again.

Oh, and I do think that old butterface phelps looks way better with his swimming cap on...it helps to keep the ears down.

Hi everyone!

I just wanted to send a shout out to all of you ttc! Most of you probably know that DH and I just got married in July, but we''ve been together for 5 years now, and we are both ready mentally to start a family.

However, it is all dependent on the Navy. DH is a medical student in the Navy, and this is his 4th and last year of school. What should happen is that he will then do an internship year and residency with a Naval hospital, during which he will go on active duty and most likely be sent overseas. If this happens, we will probably try to wait a few more years
39.gif
before actively trying because dh doesn''t want to be overseas and miss the birth or first few months!

However, we have a SLIGHT chance to be trying a heck of a lot sooner!
36.gif
DH applied to defer his navy time and do a regular residency at a civilian hospital. If by any chance this happens, we will find out in December, and will start ttc right then! We both really want this to happen, but we''re trying not to get our hopes up because the chances of him getting a deferment are not high at all.
36.gif

I just went off bc this month, but I''ve always had really regular cycles (I had to go off bc for about a year due to thyroid problems), so I''m hoping to find out that it still is. So I''ll be lurking around here trying to learn all I can from you wonderful ladies just in case I can join you in ttc in a few months!

Quick drive by before work-

LL, love the squirrel story, that''s sadly something I have done- only with kittens and birds and lizards (I raised a hummingbird and crow!), but I totally understand the interrupted sleep. We had a thunderstorm last night and DH already couldn''t sleep so he kept talking and talking and eventually I was like, it''s 1am! I have to wake up in 5 hours! Of course I woke up at 5:30 and couldn''t go back to sleep. Gah. So tired.

Tiffany: SO glad your exam had a great conclusion, but damn to hell that woman who made you late!

Mela: Good luck with the DIY, it totally sounds like rewarding fun.

Lulu: I hope you get a BFP this cycle (along with LL), since it sounds like you guys really targeted the days right!

I''m still awaiting AFF, but this morning my temps dropped by .2, so I''m pretty sure she''s imminent.

Also a quick drive by for me as well....it''s quite busy here today....Oing and knitting and squirrels OH MY!!

LL - awesome news about timing the F-tastic perfectly with your O-date! The squirrel story was so cute...I''m glad to hear it had a happy ending and mama and baby have been reunited!

Ebree - wishing you lots of luck at your Dr. appt. - hopefully you were able to get in and checked out.

Fisher - YAY for AFF knock''n at your door...she definitely owed you a visit! Please tell her we do not her dropping by anymore...sheesh!
2.gif

Mela - have fun renovating your kitchen this weekend (not sure about you, but I love doing stuff like that). Hopefully, AFF will make her visit short and sweet and then move along to someone who actually wants to see her.
9.gif

Lovely - keep yourself busy and try not to think too much about whether you are or aren''t preggos...I''ll be in the same boat as you in a week or so. Happy knitting and lots of baby dust being sent your way!

TT - WHEW - you must be so relieved that your right tube is open and A-OK!
36.gif
I hope your O-date comes soon!

Sabine - welcome!
35.gif
I remember you from BWW and your friends with Robbie correct? I hope you''ll find this thread useful and feel free to chime in and delurk whenever you''d like. We''ll see you in a few months when you start TTCing!

Amber - wishing you a short and sweet vist from AFF too!

Anyone else I may have missed...wishing you all the best w/ heaps of baby dust!

As for me, I''m cruising along at CD14 - we started the F-tastic last night because normally I O around CD 20 (give or take), but last month I *THINK* I O''d around CD 18 so, I''m starting early to make sure all our bases are covered.
2.gif

Hi Sabine!

Might be worth your signing up to FF and starting the charting. That way if your DH gets the good news you''re all set to get started and maximise your chances!

Best of luck

Yup! DH and I got engaged less than a week after Sabine and her DH got engaged. How fun would it be if we got pregnant so close together too?!

Tiffany, that''s great that the right tube is open! I hope the hysterosalphingioram helps you get your bfp!

tiffany: Thanks so much for that website! It''s exactly the one i was thinking of. and that is excellent news from the Dr

Well, I'm back from the doctor with news! I went to get my endometrial lining measured (5mm, could be thicker- I'm working on it), but doc said I responded a little TOO well to Clomid. To only 25mg! She said if I had taken any more, it could have been chaos!

Anyway, here's what she told me. Hopefully someone (Lisa!) will be able to explain this.

Today, CD 11:

Five follicles, 4 medium and one gigantor.

Right side:
(2) 12 x 12

Left side:
(2) 12 x 12
(1) 18 x 23 -> Gigantor!

She said I'd ovulate any day now. I'm thinking either CD 13 or CD 14.

Does anyone know what the above measurements mean? Doc was super busy today, so I didn't get a chance to ask her a whole lot. She did say that if I don't get pregnant this cycle, she might recommend going to a 1/4th of a Clomid every day for 5 days.

ebree, Lisa is obviously your gal for follicle-talk, but I just wanted to say that I hope the stars align for you this cycle.

Shaking some baby*dust your way over the next few days!

EBree, I dont know much about follicles but from what your doctor said it looks like great news! Sending tons of baby dust your way!

I''m not Tacori but I think this is the website you''re referring to - http://safefetus.com

Ebree, if you scroll back through the thread Lisa explained at one point that at a certain size, follicles are considered mature and thus will produce and egg at ovulation... I can''t recall what size it was... either 15mm or 18mm, but she explained it I believe in her first cycle of IUI which would have been about 2 months ago?? It may be faster to look yourself than await her reply since I haven''t seen her post very much in the last few days (lots of m/s I believe). Hope it works for you chikita!

Thank you erica, snlee and DD! I feel optimistic about this cycle.

Thank you for the suggestion- I went back and saw she had 2 at 20mm, so I don't quite understand what my doctor was all worked up about with just one at 23mm! I have four more at 12mm, but those aren't big enough to go, right?
