When I went to pick up my ring today at the jewelers, the sales lady asked me, "Do you want to see the most perfect cut diamond in the world?" She then brought out a H&A round diamond. It was beautiful! Is this cut really considered to be the most perfect cut diamond in the world?

Well THAT question can really open a can of worms here!

Let''s see who''s brave enough to touch this one without a ten foot pole.

no the most perfectly cut diamond in the world would have to be a stormworthy asscher supreme.
There are far fewer of them in the world than h&a diamonds.
As matter of fact I have only seen 1 that earned that title.
They rest are at best stormworthy asscher very nice.

8* dealer...

"perfectly cut diamond" is HoF''s trademark so I''ll gamble on DF''s prediction.

I''ll go on record as stating that H&A diamonds are the pinnacle of 57/58 facet round brilliants when cut to certain limited proportions.

There are H&A''s that leak light like sieves and then there are also those that are cut too shallow as well. So saying that H&A is *the best* is not accurate. Just becauase it has H&A symmetry does not guarantee top notch light performance.

Please sign me up for one of theose stormworthy asschers please!!!!!!!

And isn''t "perfect" a subjective term anyway?

I am very pleased with my EightStar. I consider it exemplary and quite attractive. I state that EightStar is "arguably" the best cut. But it''s not an argument I will undertake. I paid my money and I made my cherce and I am happy with the result.

We get this question a lot on watch forums. What is the best watch? Rolex? Well, they''re durable, but not exclusive. In house movement, yet not unique and scarce. Not the most refined and well finished movement. But it will run for generations. And accurately too. Patek? More refined, better finished, more exclusiive, but somewhat fragile. My watchmaker says they break and just don''t run well.

So who''s to say what is best. As Looie says, beauty is in the eye of the beer holder.
