2016 was supposed to be a jewelry no-buy for me...but when I saw this blue moonstone ring in an 18k (sun? sunflower?) setting at a local consignment store I had to make it mine. I know very little about moonstone but I *think* it was a good deal...
(apologies for my gross hands)

Love it!

Very pretty!

That's amazing! What a beautiful stone.

Good score- pretty stone! I like the setting, too.
Can you post a pic of underside of ring? Just curious.
Thanks!

Love it!! I have a soft spot for moonstones so I totally understand needing to break a ban for it!

This is gorgeous! I can see why it broke the no buy (I would have bought it too!) amazing score and that blue really pops!

I just started getting into moonstones and I can tell you that is an AMAZING stone. AMAZING!!! Totally worthy of breaking any "no-buy" rules :-)

Thank you! Be careful not to soak the ring or get it too wet when cleaning because I suspect foil backing to intensify the blue adularescence.

Thanks for the info, Chrono.

Does anyone have an opinion about whether or not I should insure this ring? I have some of my nicer stuff insured but not my less expensive colored stone rings. It's around $100 for an appraisal, and I don't know if it's worth doing. Thoughts?

Beautiful!!! Love moonstones! Sorry, but I am no help about the insurance question.

Talk to your insurance agent, many times there is general jewellery endorsement that does not need an appraisal, it all depends on the company. When I was working in the business I could offer my clients up to $10,000 in unscheduled jewelry with a $2500 per item max.
