The Love Diamond

Can someone tell me if it is worth to pay such a big premium for a love diamond? They only have IGI certs while GIA cert diamonds of same quality costs a lot less. Is it true that GIA diamonds are not well known for ideal cut?

Do not pay a premium for ANY diamond because of its brand name!

As for which labs grade which diamonds, the name on the lab report has virtually nothing to do with the likelihood of the diamond being well cut or not. I suppose that AGS might get a few more ideal cuts because they put the word "ideal" on their reports, but for the most part the labs simply grade what is sent to them.

It seems to me the the GIA sets the standard and anyone trying to cast doubt on a stone with a GIA lab report should be avoided at all costs!
