I JUST joined today - I''d like to tell all of you how much I appreciate reading all of your comments, questions, answers, suggestions, and the support you give to each other. I now know that I am not alone in anxiously awaiting the actual proposal... what a relief!

We''ve been dating a year (just had our anniversary), and he is just absolutely the most amazing man I have ever known. I never thought that I could have such an extremely blessed relationship... I could go on and on.

We have looked at rings, I''ve tried them on, picked one out (and the diamond)... now I''m waiting. Last month (sept.) He said ''in the next month or two'' is a reasonable time frame to expect the proposal. In the begining of the year (jan) he said he wanted to get engaged this year... it''s October ladies... and after him taking me to look at rings AND diamonds, I''m quite literally ready to pull out my hair lol.

So... what hobbies do I need to look into??? ha! ha!

Wedding planning!!! (That's what I do when I get particularly impatient--and a lot of the other LIW do it too!) And its so easy to go to the BWW subforum and see what they are planning and their ideas.

Once you start moving up the list often times the first people to get engaged are off the bottom of the list. I was on the list for 2 years and I didn''t get past #4. Sunnyd is updating the list quite frequently and while there are sometimes mistakes I can assure you its quite accurate.

It has quite a bit to do with girls who do drive-bys--sign up, post to be added to the list, and then never post again. Which kind of sucks. I wish they''d stick around and keep posting. Then again that means the list would be probably 300 long.

I wouldn''t worry too much elle--Gala is set to be on there for about 2 more years I believe, so you could end up being #4 (Or #2, if everyone ahead of her gets engaged first!) for a while.

I''m hoping for a ton of proposals this Christmas, like there were last Christmas--I think the list even got down to double digits there for a little bit!

I am in a similar situation as yours. My BF and I have dated a year, have been looking at rings now for quite some time (although very fun, it can also be VERY frustrating when you''ve been ancipitating it for 8 months now!). He also said that it would be within this year...so all I can do it just plan plan plan! Plus - I keep him updated on my ranking on this LIW list so he knows just to keep him on his toes!
