Hello,

I''ve been lurking around for awhile and didnt have the guts to post anything cause I didnt know how to ask my questions.. Anyhow here I go..

Well the time is coming closer to finally get married but I have yet to propose to her or yet find a ring. So here I am trying to find these ring for her. I''ve read everything I need to read to know about these little clear diamonds but yet I am stuck and lost. I know what I am looking for but there SOO many to select from and then am I really getting the best deal, am I getting ripped off.. etc... I''ve gone into B&Ms but yet they just push bigger and expensive rings. I really dont think some care what you want and then there are the ones that want to genuinely help. Then you got certain diamonds that cost SOO much more than another same diamond..

Anyhow straight to the goodies..

I''ve been looking for a Square Cushion H&A. In the range of .50-1.0Carat. She did try on a .77 carat ring at a B&M and it looked perfect for her hands. Small hands. I know this isnt much info since, color/clarity/porportions all come into play. I guess thats where I keep getting lost. For Price Range, I am working with 4-6grand for the diamond and setting. So then I wonder can I get a decent size diamond with GREAT optics and a setting. My gf doesnt want me to spend an arm and leg for a ring.. I guess thats a good thing.. lol.

So yeah, I''ve e-mailed GOG but still waiting on a reply. Just e-mailed them yesterday. I dont think they open on mondays.? This is the only place I know of right now because of PS.

Is there other places I should look to see whats out there.

Anyhow hopefully I am asking the right questions. I hope that all you ps''er would help me get in the right direction.

I hope to journal all this and share my journey with you all in the end..

Thanks in advance.

For Sq H&A, GOG is the place.

Ditto that and yes I believe GOG close Mondays.

I guess I''m on the right track with GOG..

Thanks!

Yes, and Jonathan is wonderful and can help you through the process. If you have questions about specific stones feel free to post them here, but I think your budget is very reasonable for a stone of that size and should get you exactly what you want.

Thanks!
Absolutely!

Any insight to this diamond.. Looks soo nice.. Yet the price is a bit on the higher side for what i''m looking at for just the diamond.. GIA report dates it back to 2007. so wondering if it just takes diamonds awhile for it to sell. Then again eveyrone looks for something different.

Yeah, I would love this one if the price was a bit more down. I havent seen a lot of diamonds so just from what i''ve seen this is nice.

I think i''ve seen others link this diamond also.

It''s a beauty, but on that one you''re paying a premium for the E color and the VVS clarity.

and

http://goodoldgold.com/diamond/6444/ (if I color is okay with you; on a stone of this size with H&A sparkle, I don''t think any tint will be noticeable, but a very color-sensitive person might notice some)

are a bit less expensive, are in the size range you''re considering, should be beautiful stones, and give you more money to spare for the setting.

Looks nice.

Wow! Thanks! I'll check these out! Color is not too much of a issue. I mean Great! if its colorless but if its barely noticeable thats also great.. its like a equalizer on a stereo.. lol I have to adjust what i need and dont need to get the right best looking diamond in my eyes. but thanks again especially for pointing these 2 out.

Also does anyone know what the turn around time is for e-mails from GOG. Just want to know for future reference. I know they are getting other e-mails also so gotta put that into consideration.

I''m happy to have been of some help.

GOG has always answered my emails within a day or so (not counting Mondays when they''re closed). I would imagine the holiday rush has got them slammed, so figure two days to be on the safe side. If it takes longer than that I''d give them a phone call because maybe your email got lost in a spam filter or something.

While I am waiting for GOG to reply back,

Any pro''s and con''s to these 2 rings.. I know the color is at H and I and that doesnt really bother me too much at all. I''ll probably go into a store and see how H and I differ and if I can even tell the difference which I probably wont..

Please chime in... Thanks
