Hello, everyone! I’m a big filigree lover, in all its shapes and sizes, either Art Deco or the twisted wire technique.

Apparently, it survives in many places as a gold or silver smithing technique, but as with most handmade crafts, it’s at risk of dying out. (I also remember quite a few new pieces for sale in the late 90s-early 00s, but none these days - in my town at least -, which is a shame…)

For anyone curious, I found this article interesting, and a good starting point if wanting to find out more about how it’s made: https://www.lebrusanstudio.com/blog...ard-winning-designer-arabel-lebrusan-explains

Who else shares the same love of filigree? Post your pieces here!

I’ll start. Here are some pieces that my mother bought recently. My shots are terrible, so I’m attaching the vendor photos too, they’re better.

Also, if I weren’t on ban island (nearly wrote that out in capital letters, ha ha), I’d buy all of these… Hopefully, one day! The website is the online shop of a pawn shop, so yay for the age of the internet, or else I wouldn’t have found these beauties.

hubby bought me these for my birthday I think around 1990 or 1991, they are appropriate today since they have hearts on them...I wore them for years at first, then they fell out of style and then I developed an allergy and can't wear any earring anymore...I have gotten rid of most of my earring but for some reason I have held onto these...they are 14K yellow gold

This is my filigree brooch. IMG_9189.jpeg I’m still waiting for delivery. I’m turning it into a bracelet as I have a filigree watchband I can use.

Two of my favorite pieces are filagree pieces, my Edwardian diamond ring and my vintage opal bracelet.
