Since finding PS I have fallen in love with OECs. Both a blessing and a curse. Now I can never go back to a modern cut. My collection is growing and I’m learning so much from this community C61DA7FD-DC2D-438C-899B-556F8C62A697.jpeg246163A5-3432-4D71-A665-3103F9BC27D1.jpeg

Me, too!

I feel the same way. Modern cuts just don't do it for me anymore. I love the feeling of finding an old cut that makes your heart sing! And the journey to finding them only makes them more appealing!

I understand this completely; in fact, I resemble this comment, LOL! I have learned so much from this community and have enjoyed the journey so much! I find that my jewelry "palate" has expanded quite a bit over the years. and I am more and more drawn to old cuts of many types. There is still room in my heart for a few modern cuts as well, but wow, the charm of old cuts is super compelling! Your stones are absolutely beautiful!

I’d never even heard of OEC’s before PS, now I have Bella. Yours are gorgeous.
Your Bella is one of the stones I first saw and my jaw dropped. It’s gorgeous. I hope to one day have my own Bella.

Totally agree! Are you going for a 3 stone ring?:)

I bought them to wear as studs but now im contemplating doing a 3 stone ring. However, I’m worried that they may be too big for side stones? Or that they may take away from the main stone and just look like a wall of diamonds. Here is what they would look like ( I would have them bezeled )993D3BB2-0429-41DA-A400-CA59BD91D899.jpeg4E8B1F1A-4A73-4BF8-BEEC-A060C3E28F96.jpeg

And oh yes, I know that. I have old stones that are new cuts but all new stones I get now are old cuts ;-)!

Umm...what are the diameters on stones?

They are addictive! My wallet is definitely taking a hit

Here are the dimensions. Size 6.5 finger

Oh-we’re the same ring size. Maybe 20mm is a little wide before the setting? I hope other 3 stone owners will chime in.

My recommendation would be to keep the 6mm as earrings and buy another pair of 5mm for side stones

Haha. I love it. I think I may follow your recommendation. It’s just so hard to find matching OECs!

My 3 stone are about the same dimensions (7.5mm center with 6mm each side) on a size 3 ring, and I don't think the sides are too large!

If I were to buy a round diamond in future to be worn as a right hand ring, it would be an OEC.

DK :))

Went I look at your threads to see your ring and could only see the one with the cads ( which looked fabulous). Any way you could post a pic of the finished ring?

I have a few here, it's probably my most worn ring because it's so comfortable. As you can see, even though it appears as if the sidestones hang over the edge of my finger in the top down view, it doesn't actually scrape or get in the way of the adjourning fingers when you view it from the side. It only appears that way because the camera lens creates an illusion.

You could do a three stone with the width. It's all about the setting style as @ForteKitty demonstrates.

If I were to do 3 stone I would want it like your ring (cvb paloma I think). I love that design and have the photos saved for inspiration. Did you ever end up selling it ? C97F8CA5-1762-41FB-A42F-8CEEAE385338.png

It's listed with Jewels by Grace currently. We aren't supposed to talk about our listings outside of pre-loved, but it's on her site.

wow . Can’t believe how beautiful it looks. And that you can comfortably wear it on size 3. Love it

You may want to check with her because I went in her site and could not find it. I searched by cvb, 22k, 3 stone and rose cut. I got no hits.

It is there. She doesn't list it under CvB for some reason! Her site can be weird with search terms too.

@dhimer Your stones are beautiful. The three-stone combo is quite bling but as you can see several people here have three stone rings with large rocks and it is a matter of taste. Personally I would get three different rings. :lol-2:

I, too, have fallen in love with old cuts since re-joining PS. I have one OEC so far and am working on the second. The chunky imperfect facets are so visually interesting.

Someone on PS was saying that old cuts have been popular for a while. I just don’t see them that often outside PS and specialty Instagram/Etsy. Especially on recently engaged online communities. It’s like you need to know about them already. Part of it might be marketing — people think low color = low quality, therefore old cuts are either ugly low color or over-priced when they are high color.
