Stories like this one - mean that LGD growers will lose all reputation and respect for companies who are really doing the right thing. (Not too many yet).
1ct removes 20 tons of carbon????

They are playing the same stupid game all the big corps are on a much larger scale.
They count the potentual co2 saved by not moving tons of material to mine the stone.

Hey Mate!
I'm not sure I get your point....
I agree that its a BS claim.
Are you saying false statements, by a few entities dooms the entire LG business?

Karl not sure where the tons came from. It is 0.064 metric tons for a 1ct mined diamond on their website - see the second image.
I want to know from them where they are actually growing diamonds.
My bet since there is no real information on their website that they are buying from China and India grown diamonds that cause the early deaths of millions of people every year from breathing coal fumes from old inefficient coal fired power plants.

Yes David,
I believe the current 'he said she said' marketing battle will harm the entire diamond industry.
The marketing people behind this venture appal me.

Our miners and the LGD growers can all improve their footprints.

But to throw around mistruths and attack each others reputations based on how bad the other guys are will hurt everyone in the end.

Once it was true that diamonds did really bad things for many poor people in Africa. But now that is true of a tiny minority of mined diamonds and diamonds are supporting millions of people in Africa today.

I was given some numbers yesterday by the most respected authority and the range I have been quoting of 1-3% of mined diamonds present some risks to the people involved appears to be on the high side.

If people decide to buy LGD's on the basis of such claims they certainly should not own any products that include modern batteries and high tech devices like phones, computers and electric cars. At least 50% or the rare Tantulum, Cobalt and many other rare earths come from DRC.

We’re in total agreement my friend. I’m appalled by the drivel posted no IDEX.... but I have to say, maybe even more turned off by the plethora of “Investment Diamond” sellers.
Actually, it’s a valid comparison.
I believe the louder voices in this have been far more honest. You don’t see any of the major sites using investment as a selling tool. Plus forums like this educate folks. Have people been scammed into buying “Investment Diamonds”? Of course. But the diamond industry has still managed to thrive.
It’s impossible to say what this will do to the LG business..... bit I suspect not much.

Oh geez Garry, will you ever tire of the melodrama?
