Hi, thanks to everyone so far for their advice and help. Now, I actually am looking at some specific diamonds ... any thoughts on which of these you might pick?

1.55 H, VS1, HCA 2
1.70 G, SI1, HCA 1.3
1.56 G, SI1, HCA 2.3

All SI1s look very clean to me. I am a tiny bit wary of the HCA 2.3 -- should I be?
The 2.3 HCA scorer has borderling steep deep angles, so I would ask for an Idealscope image of the diamond so we can see if there is any leakage present. The other 2 look good, check which of the three are eyeclean and we need a definite IS image for the third, then we can go from there.

Thanks! When you say steep angles, are you referring to the crown and pavilion angles? I can see that the crown angle is a bit outside of AGS ideal and the pavilion depth is at the upper end ... is that what you''re referring to?

I''ve already recruited Idealscopes from JA, so I''ll post when I get them ... Thanks again Lorelei ...

Yes indeed. The angles are in the ' danger zone' at 35/41. GIA round the numbers so according to which way they are rounded, the diamond may or may not show leakage, hence the importance of an IS or ASET image to determine this.

You are most welcome!

Here''s the idealscope for the 1.56 ... any thoughts? For price reasons I''d prefer the 1.56 but not if the slightly steep cut is affecting its brilliance.

The image looks good, there might be a very minimal amount of leakage but I doubt the human eye would ever detect it.

Thanks, Lorelei! I bought the diamond and just had it mounted and posted the picture here.
