The center stone is .70 ct, G, SI1 (though we could only see the inclusion with a microscope - not a loupe), brilliant cut - GIA cert...I don't have the exact numbers on the cut right now because we put the cert in the safe deposit box before I wrote them down...but when it's very close to the perfect perfect cut proportions -I think one number was out of that perfect range by some miniscule amount.

It's set in 74 bead and bezel set pave diamonds for 1.02 tcw...the pave is D-G, VS1-2. Ring is platinum.

Setting was modified to bezel from a prong originally...local jeweler in SF jewelry mart did it.

I'll try to find numbers and post again another time!

(BTW, you are so right that the cut makes the diamond look bigger. I have big hands - I wear a 6.25 size ring, so that gives you some perspective on size...)

wee!!!! How beautiful and magnificent! I just love that setting - the arty feel of it, the vintage inspiration with milgraining...it is DIVINE. I love the big halo on this ring and the diamonds in the shanks...it really makes this ring work. GORGEOUS!!!

The pic with the sea in the background was taken in Tulum, Mexico - 90 minutes south of Cancun, on the way to Belize. Absolute paradise...
