I after long discussion with the Josh at James Allen -- one diamond stood out in his opinion and mine. The 2.14 that I posted about earlier ...
2.14ct Princess I, VS2 GIA Excellent Sym and Polish
It is a perfect 1.0 l/w square, had great color and the length and width measurements were equal or larger than other candidate diamonds in the 2.24 and 2.30 ct range. In other words -- this diamond will look larger relative to his carat weight and the cut, symmetry and polish were all ideal/excellent (which was the most important of the C's to me). Josh strongly recommended this diamond -- and it happened to be among the lowest priced diamonds of the ones I was looking at -- which to me says a lot.
He sent me a huge pic of it (I had to resize it post here) but I was sold.
It is being set as we speak in this setting -- Bridal Setting
I should arrive in time for our weekend trip to Palm Springs -- I am so excited -- I hope she says yes.
I do plan to take it to an independent appraiser in my area to have it checked out -- but I have a strong feeling that it is a keeper.
