Just wanted to say thank you to everyone (especially akmiss) for helping me pick out the perfect engagement ring within my budget. You have a fantastic community here and I will recommend this forum to any friends who need to pick out a ring in future.

My girlfriend and I took a trip to New York for a couple of days and I proposed on the Bow Bridge in Central Park yesterday. I got an emphatic yes, and my fiance is amazed at how sparkly the diamond is (she was excited that it ''even sparkled in the dark!'').

As promised, here is the ring shot. I guess now all we have to do is plan the wedding.

congrats! Beautiful stone..beautiful proposal spot

Thank you all for the well wishes, it''s been a crazy couple of days as we''ve gone from announcing the news to our friends and family to watching my future mother-in-law dive right into full wedding-planning mode. And I think if I hear "Have you set a date?" one more time I''ll go crazy. But it''s all worth it to see the smile on my bride-to-be''s face as I catch her glancing at the new shiny rock on her finger.

Unfortunately we were so caught up in the moment of the proposal that we forgot to take any photographs afterward! We have a couple of photos of us standing on the Bow Bridge together before I proposed but no NYC ring shots. We did go out for Brunch yesterday and took a few snaps of her, us and the ring - with her permission I will post them in here.

I''ll also point her to the bride to be forum, thanks for the tip. She''s already trying to work out what wedding ring she wants and how it will work with the knife edge setting, so I''m sure some of you guys could help with that.

Congratulations! It''s a beautiful ring and it looks great on her hand -- it looks like the ring size is perfect for her, too -- nice job!

OHHH that is just GREAT

that I can find a nice ring with a similar budget. Where did you get your diamond?

Great picture btw - you can really see the cut quality.

The diamond came from James Allen, prices are great and I love being able to look at the diamonds through their Virtual Loupe.

Congrats
