...for helping me find *my* diamond!
Prior to the Pricescope indoctrination, I was set on F, VS2. I knew almost zilch about cut, and had never even heard of crown and pavillion angles and their importance. After voraciously reading the posts on this forum and walking through the tutorial (for newbies, highly recommend doing this step-by-step), I was armed with numbers on what would make a great stone. After a while, the combinations of numbers gave me big headaches, I admit!
Thanks to all of you PS members (esp. Mara, aljdewey, and strmrdr) for guiding me along with your educated opinions and advice. Thank you also for introducing me to WF. Jamie at WF was superb in answering my many questions, providing the necessary paperwork, and just being patient and supportive with me throughout my diamond search. After 2 months of searching, I was lucky enough to find THE stone. (It really helped that my bf upped the budget!
) Here''s what I selected from WF:
A Cut Above H&A
1.11, F, SI1, Depth 60.6, Table 55, Crown Angle 34.8, Crown % 15.5, Pavillion Angle 40.7, Pavillion % 42.9, Girdle Thin, Polish Ideal, Symmetry Ideal, Culet Pointed, Fluor Negligible, Measurements 6.74-6.76 x 4.09
The setting is the X-prong from Vatche. I had Chris at D. Atlas help me with the appraisal (what can I say? Chris is wonderful!) and because I was local to him, I was able to see (and be pretty much bowled over by) the diamond. The whole process of working with WF and D. Atlas, with the stone being shipped back and forth, was quite simple, probably because both parties were so patient and accommodating. What a pleasure it has been doing business with them!
Thanks everyone! I can''t wait to see the finished ring... which won''t happen until my bf puts it on my hand!
