Dear Pricescope,
A few weeks ago I looked up 'diamond rings'
And met Pricescope.
A wonderful and giving community.
Through you I found Leon.
Wrote to him, only these words:
"Dear Leon,
All my jewelry was stolen one week before our wedding.
It has been a traumatising experience and has put me off any kind of jewelry.
That was almost 20 years ago.
Our anniversary is coming up,
would you make a ring for me?
Sincerely,"
The next day he replied:
" I would be honored to make a ring for you."
So our journey began.
I had to buy a diamond.
I do not know anything about diamonds.
I read through Pricescope, learned from what you have generously shared.
But it became all too much and overwhelming.
I decided that I could not and would not want to do this by myself.
I needed the experts.
I called Perry.
I told him that I liked emerald cut.
He told me more about them.
We talked for an hour.
In the meantime..
I had been looking at Leon's art.
I saw the cushion cut.
I loved it's warmth.
I called Perry once more.
He explained.
I believed in him, appreciated his approach.
Trusted him.
I asked for an elongated cushion.
He asked for my preference, in color, size.
He had taught me all that previously.
He asked for my budget.
For the first time.
And he found it.
The very next day.
He sent us the certificate.
We went over it, found an appraiser.
Perry took it to the appraiser of our choice.
We bought it.
We loved it.
I trusted Perry, it turned out perfect.
This has been too easy.
Leon wrote to me.
To go over designs.
I had my favorite two.
I called him.
He loved my stone, it's cut.
But it wasn't suitable for the designs I'd picked.
How about another.
'This stone will be beautiful in this setting,' he said.
I trusted him.
It was a giant decision.
I trusted him.
A few weeks went by.
I saw French cuts.
Loved them.
Wish I had them in my ring.
Called Leon.
He told me about them.
I loved his passion, his knowledge and his sense of humour.
We had long and funny conversations.
He completely understood what I wanted.
A true artist, a rare talent with a beautiful gift.
I decided that I would also like a pair of earrings.
Perry found the French cuts and the cushions once again.
Put everything together.
Those beautiful French cuts where an order can take up to 6 months of waiting.
I sure felt lucky.
An amazing design process.
Leon listened to the problem with my ear hole.
One up, one down, slightly.
And a bit droopy.
Unsightly.
He asked for close up photos.
Designed accordingly.
My personal earrings, designed for my ears only!
The wait will be three weeks.
Leon will send them to me while we are vacationing in Florida.
This has been too easy and too perfect.
Should I be nervous?
Did I make the right choices?
Did I rush into it?
Is that the right diamond? The right design?
I asked him for a very light ring.
Like a kite, barely held down by a very fine string of diamonds and wrapped around my finger.
Delicately.
Movable earrings, very light.
Must cover ear holes and length must be adjusted for each hole.
Delicately.
I haven't been in a jewelry store in almost 20 years.
The trauma.
Will this be healing?
So easily?
Rachel contacts me.
She is so sweet, always helpful.
They will deliver the ring two days before we leave.
Perfect.
We are excited.
Leon is also making a ring for my husband.
A very light, movable platinum ring.
Awaiting 3 boxes.
A problem.
With the delivery company.
Rachel informs me that Leon has been on the phone with them back and forth all afternoon.
He has been upset.
There is a problem with delivering to the hotel.
But not to worry.
I don't.
Leon is a man of his word. Perry is a man of his word.
Only after 15 minutes I get a message from Leon.
I call.
Perry is hopping on a plane and bringing us our jewelry!
Leon and Perry are on the line, laughing and joking about it..
Has anyone does this for you?
It leaves you speechless.
Humbled.
True men of their word.
Perry arrives.
An amazing person.
So knowledgeable, so easy going.
You feel like you've known him for a long time.
We are so happy he is here, with or without the candy!
The man with the diamonds, delivers 3 boxes.
And the biggest smile.
We open them.
We love them.
A very simple story.
A very big job made very easy.
A total of 20 emails, 6 calls.
I am honored.
I am honored to wear what you have made for me.
It is the only jewelry I have fallen in love with.

I know metal and stone can't fulfill happiness but it sure has added to it!

The photos.
We are no photographers.
My husband and I took them yesterday when we received them.
I never realised how much hair I had on my fingers...
So unsightly, I apologize.
I have to add.
As I look at the photos, then back at my jewelry,
it has not captured their true beauty, not even close.
In fact, they are nothing like those close up pictures,
they are even more amazing from a distance where you can see depth and movement.
There is no possible way of capturing how dainty the shank is.
All you can see is a thin flow of sparkles dancing madly.
No metal at all.
I have never seen anything like it.
I can easily tell you that neither the ring nor the earrings have any weight.
They just float, barely touching.
Truly out of this world.
You will have to see to believe, that's all I can say.
Nothing can compare, everything else falls short, clumsy and rough.
I feel extremely lucky to have found Leon.
I am humbled and honored.
