Hello,

First, thank you. I have spent months reading (obsessing over) this site and found it so extremely helpful. Thank you for the help thus far and the particular help you will give me!

A little background. My partner is absolutely incredible - smart, hilarious, down to earth, very active, not flashy in the slightest. She has never really been the type to dream about a diamond or engagement ring, so after I learned enough to be dangerous on this site, we went to Tiffany to get some ideas and learn her ring size. She fell in love with the Tiffany Harmony - both the 4 prongs, how it is set (lower), and how it feels on her finger.

She would like a 1.3-1.4 carat diamond (she felt 1.5 carats was too large), F/G color, VS2 or higher clarity. The budget is about 20,000, though I don't think I will use it all.

Here are the diamonds I am considering, any preferences:

The bigger question is the setting. My partner likes the low set nature and feel of the Harmony. She is active, runs, plays soccer, and travels a lot for work, so I think the way the diamond set was really important to her.

I've looked for replicas and I think the closest are:

http://www.whiteflash.com/engagement-rings/diamond-settings/flush-fit-diamond-engagement-ring-42.htm [seems much thicker than the Harmony]

https://leonmege.com/portfolio/custom-work/solitaires/ideal-cut-round-diamond-solitaire-engagement-ring-detail [hard to tell, but I think his work is beautiful]

https://www.victorcanera.com/rings/engagement/the-trueste-solitaire [the bars are "swinging" the wrong direction]

http://www.briangavindiamonds.com/engagement-rings/solitaire/melissa-platinum-5366p [seems set too high]

Is there an option I have missed that is closer to the Harmony? Do you believe the Harmony is something that could be replicated? Who would you recommend to replicate it?

Thank you so much for any and all recommendations. I have included a Harmony picture for reference.

Wow - she is going to end up with a beautiful ring! The stones you have selected are all beautiful stones - I'd probably select by 1) size 2) eye cleanliness and 3) great color but a G is a nice white diamond. You will probably be guided by price as well so just try to get as much bang for the buck as you can. Don't know that I'd go to F unless you have a special preference for that.

As for the setting, no one will exactly duplicate the Tiffany setting but you could come close. Personally, I like the Victor Canera Trueste. I think it is more stylish than the Tiffany setting and her two most favorite things were that it was comfortable and low set. Victor is a very nice person and someone that you can talk with about your preferences. Did you look at any of his stones as contenders? It's nice to get the stone and setting from the same person but not an absolute necessity.

Miss Got Rocks,

Thank you! The ring was made way more quickly than I thought (and require), but I thought I would post Victor's picture of the finished product. It is a modified Trueste, made more to the particularities of what my girlfriend was looking for. And looks gorgeous. I can't wait to see it in person! Now I just have to hide it.
