I know GIA and AGS are the most reputable, but should I be scared to buy an EGS stone? How might the report differ from a GIA or AGS?

There are a lot of threads here on Price Scope that address this issue... Long story short, it has been our experience that the GIA and AGS are more accurate and consistent than the EGL... Do a search on EGL using the search feature here on PS and you'll find a myriad of information.

Thanks for your help. One more question. How can I tell by looking at the cert if it is an EGL-USA or EGL-Europe lab?

It will actually say EGL USA.
