Hi everyone,

I am still working with IDJ to have a tennis bracelet made for my 40th birthday. I am having trouble deciding on the total carat size, however! I went to the jewellery store local to me and the biggest tennis bracelets they had to try on were 3 tcw.

I am debating between 6, 7, or 8 carats. I am 5'4', more on the petite side, and have 5.5 inch wrists. I will wear the bracelet as a standalone piece, and don't plan to wear it with a watch or any other bracelets/bangles. It will be a 3 prong setting, and the length will be 6.25 inches. Which size would you go with for everyday wear? For what it's worth, I wear a 2.26 e ring on my left hand, 2 carat 5 stone ring on my left hand, and and 2 tcw diamond studs as my everyday jewellery... fear that I might get shrinking diamond syndrome, but at the end of the day, want something elegant and not overly chunky to wear!

For what it's worth, I've looked at everyone's pictures of tennis bracelets on this forum, but it's still so hard to choose!

Thank you!

Your wrists are tiny.. I recommend getting the 6 cttw. The 8cttw will be entirely too large for every day wear and heavy at that.

Thank you. Would 6 tcw look visually very similar to 7 tcw? Was initially thinking 6 would be too small, 8 too big, and going with the 7?

My avatar is a 20 pointer 7 stone. Considering your other jewellery, I don't see any reason to not go with 20 pointers. They dont
really seem that big to me.

If your other jewelry was more modest then I would have gone with the 15 pointers for everyday but your everyday jewelry
is on the larger size.

Imho there isn't enough size difference between the 6 and the 7 to spend the extra $. I'd put that in a spend it elsewhere splurge fund, but that's just me.

I'd go with the 7 or 8. 20 pointers aren't really that big when on the wrist, imo. I also have a small wrist and have gotten some different cz sizes and prefer 20-25 pointers.

If it were me, I'd go with either the .18's or the .20's (probably the .20's if you are comfortable with the extra cost.)

How much time to you have? It’s a special order, correct? If you have an extra week or two I would order the cz versions so can be absolutely sure.

I have a 5.5" wrist at the biggest point (the bony area) and it's probably a little smaller where a bracelet would go. I was trying on tennis bracelets a few days ago and the biggest they had in a classic style was 6.64 tcw. I actually amazed at how small and delicate it seemed in real life! I would go for the 8 ct! I also tried on one that was a little different...it had 3 little stones together to make it look like one bigger stone and I loved that presence!

I vote 8 ct. I have a 6 ct, my wrist are about 6” and mine is 6.75”. Personally I think it’s on the smaller side.

I personally think 0.20ct dia is perfect for both daily & occasion wear. I started off with 0.12ct & soon found it small to my liking & went on getting something much bigger which isn’t really suitable for daily/casual (for my social circle).

I gave a couple of friends same advice & so far they are really happy with their 0.20ct.

Isn't this like flat-screen TVs? Does anyone ever regret going with the bigger one?

I mean it's not a solitaire so they are not intrinsically flashy stones, individually. If you can afford it, lead with the sparkle and not the metal, imo.

Ha! I now have TB envy. Mine is less than 2ct.

But I bought it to go with the diamonds on my watch (next to it) and “push present” eternity ring.

This is making me feel like I need an upgrade! At which point I’d definitely go for the 6ct - if it’s for daily wear.

Hi all,

So IDJ made a mistake in the quote that they gave me, the quote in the poll is for a 7 inch bracelet. For a 6.25 inch tennis bracelet, the options are below:

0.20 x 35 diamonds = 7 ctw
0.25 x 32 diamonds = 8 ctw

I've also found a place where I could try on a 8 ctw bracelet, see below....

Would you feel comfortable with this for everyday wear? Going back and forth between the .20 and .25 pointers, leaning slightly more towards the .20's!

Omg I love that tennis bracelet! I prefer small stones. Mind sharing how many stones are in it/the stone size/individual carat weight/wrist size? Don’t mean to pry but yours is close to what I want. :)

The bracelet I tried on was 6.5 inches.
33 stones
.25 each, 8.2 carats in total

I vote for the .20s.
My everyday bracelet of 6.5 inches is made of .33s.
This is sometimes paired with my .20s FIY.
They are both 4 prongs with the look of 3 prongs.

Go big especially when the bracelet is going to be worn on its own, IMHO.

DK :))
