Cuz I just found out he is taking me there in February!! :twirl: And we're also going to San Francisco too. I've never been to either place. I'm so excited!! He wanted it to be a surprise but it's kinda hard to surprise me for a vacation when I have 3 kids. ;)

ooh, fun, Napa is absolutely beautiful! I think you will really enjoy it :)

Are you staying in Napa or one of the other towns? We stayed in St. Helena and the food was amazing!

Napa is fantastic! Where are you staying?

One of my tips is to spend time in Sonoma - the wineries are much much cheaper to taste at and the quality is pretty much the same (it's just one valley over from Napa - very close). The tasting prices in Napa can be $20+ per person, so that can be limiting. In Sonoma you can often pick up "buy one tasting, get one free" coupons and the wineries are less mobbed with people.

I booked a Town Car limo my most recent trip and it was totally worth it. There are plenty of wineries off of the main roads that you would never know to look for on your own, but the limo driver knew where all of them were. You can pick out the places and tell them where to go, or tell them what you like and they'll plan a trip. Our driver also had tons of free tasting coupons that he gave us, which saved a lot of money.

For dinner, I would recommend Redd very highly. I also love The Girl and the Fig in Sonoma, especially for lunch. French Laundry is one of the best restaurants in the entire country, but it's tough to get a reservation and very expensive.

We live about an hour and a half from Napa and it's beautiful! It will be chilly, but very nice. You should go to Ad Hoc for a wonderful and yummy dinner. We also went to the Culinary Institute in Sonoma, which was AMAZING but really pricey. Above all, enjoy!! San Francisco is lovely, our favorite hotel there is the Intercontinental by the Museum of Modern Art. It has floor to ceiling windows and is just awesome. I'm envious!

I completely ditto this entire post. I live in SF and visit Napa/Sonoma often. Most Napa wineries charge more because that is where the tourists go, but the whole region is stunning and there are thousands of wineries so I am sure you will find a lot that you love. I also highly recommend you eat out a lot in SF. The cuisine here is different than everywhere else I have ever been. Almost every restaurant priced low or high serves local organic food. Check yelp before you go.

Absolutely 100% agree with Elro regarding Sonoma.

Thanks so much ladies! I have no idea where we are staying yet! He hasn't told me much! I will let you know! ;)

Nkarma x 3 plus Elro re chilly. Dress in some layers or at least have a moderate coat or jacket available to you. Can also be rainy then too.

You'll have a great time in both locales--Enjoy!!!

Ok so I found out that we're staying at the W in San Fran. :) Gonna be a long wait!!
