Wedding tatting

I'm on a posting spree tonight cause I'm post-call and slept all day, and I had a glass of wine. I'm such a lightweight these days..


Anyway, I wanted to share the tatting that my mom is doing for the edging of my veil. It's about 1 inch wide. I think I could probably do without it since my dress has a lot of detail. But it's really important to her to do this (her mom made tatting for the edging on her veil, which was just recently discovered to be lost along with her wedding dress during one of my grandmother's purging binges).

Here's what she has so far. She has ordered different thread that is higher quality and is not quite so ivory. It means a lot to me to be able to wear something that she made by hand on my wedding day

I used to do beadwork based on tatting. I did a bracelet of that exact pattern. It came our really lovely and obviously the use of the same patterns means great minds think alike!
