I usually consider my solitaire to have a knife edge shank, but, in reality, it is also tapered. A Pricescope member once made a collage out of photos of my ring. These show it alone and with its jackets. I wanted the stone to look as if it were floating on my finger; I wanted the band to be almost invisible. For occasions when I wanted a more lacey look, I had the jackets.
