Tanzanite - pendant ideas please

Hi all,
I am the proud owner (thanks to DB and a pricescoper) of my second coloured stone - a little tanzanite. The pics aren't great but they're the best I can do with this tricky little stone.
I'm looking for pendant ideas for a limited budget!

Design ideas? If so, here are some I found just on a Google Images search. I'd recommend prongs over a bezel for a tanzanite and since tanzanite looks good with a variety of metals, you can pick the color metal you like best.

7 mm is a decent size. Since budget is limited, I suppose you are looking for something simpler in design? How about the below? I do think tanzanite should be prong set as well though.

Would any of these appeal to you? You can get the mountings from IDJ, for example, and they could set the tanzanite, then ship back to you.

I'm still sitting on my own tanzanite pendant project! I have found it useful to do searches based on the shape of the stone.

I've been looking into some DanielM settings, but I wasn't sure where else to look.. I was thinking of having it bezel set, but apparently that's not wise with tanzanite. I figured it would protect the stone better, but maybe setting it bezeled would be more dangerous for the stone? is that why?

Great buy! I go for the setting w/the peridot that Enerchi linked and for the 1st one in your post, PP. Both show the stone off well & the diamond makes a good accent, if it's within your budget. It would look super in rose gold, no?

Both of these are lovely but will leave the corners of the trilliant exposed. It's not too traumatic in a pendant but I thought I'd mention it in case you hadn't pulled the trigger yet.

Do you have any stones lying around that you could perhaps add just above the Tanzanite? That can look very pretty too.

I think having the ends exposed in a pendant setting is less risky. And yes, the process of bezel setting a stone creates some measure of stress on the tanzanite as the metal is folded over it. Some bench jewellers are a bit heavy handed and might damage the tanzanite.

JewelFreak - now you've got me thinking rose gold and I like that idea! My DH likes the first DanielM setting best too so I've just emailed them for a quote.

LD - nope, sadly no extra stones lying around. I'm brand new to coloured stones - this is only my second buy (I picked up a pair of peridot last year that were bezel set into yellow gold for earrings). I can see how this would be addictive - I already have my eye on a few other stones, but nothing I'm going to pull the trigger on yet..
