So I’ve been thinking of a reset for my diamond or an upgrade to my diamond or both. I love my diamond but since I will be changing my setting now is the time to upgrade it. Or keep it.
Currently I have a L colored AVR set in a Kirk Kara Carmella setting. Size is 1.01 ct. There are many details I love about the setting but the overall look misses the mark.
I love the milgrain, engraving and the halo.
Tiffany Legacy has always been a dream setting for me. That being said I will probably set an aquamarine cushion that I have in a Legacy type setting for a right-hand ring.
I love the Tacori 2620. I have tried it on and I like the profile. Easy to wear.
I’m also liking a solitaire with French cut sides and milgrain along the edges. I love halo rings. CVB Clara and Casablanca-yes I know 2 different styles.
I also love the VC Emilya but worried about the band. I wear my rings every day. I take them off my gardening or dishes but otherwise I believe my rings should be enjoyed. My current setting has the pave bead set. I have not had any issues with it. Not sure about the durability of other settings so if anyone could weigh in that would be great.
I like to stack and have several bands by CVB and see more in my future.
I’m keeping an inspiration board.
I love OEC’s and cushions. AVR’s and AVC’s.
GOG I can trade up but they don’t seem to have a lot in stock in either AVR or AVC. They also have buyback but I would lose money there.I'm open to that possibility. There are some beautiful OEC’s out there and I have seen a few antique cushions that I like but they are really pushing the budget and would not leave anything for the setting. I’m all about the diamond and the setting. I don’t think going custom cut is for me.
For me daily wear might be up to a 1.5 ct. Color-It depends on diamond.
I was hoping to visit GOG but a visit in the near future is not possible. Maybe the end of the year but there is still no guarantee that they will have what I am looking for.
I will be having a major surgery soon so I will have lots of time to drive myself crazy during the long recovery. So, if you have read this far and have any suggestions or insight that would be great.

Please post a pic of your current ring. I saw the video of the stone. It's beautiful. Since you have the upgrade option with GOG, I would do an upgrade if you can afford it.

As far as settings go, you seem to like many different ones. I couldn't even begin to suggest until the stone is decided upon. That tells you how much coverage you have.

Good luck on your surgery. Hope it goes well. This project should be a nice distraction.

I do like everything. That's my problem. But everything does not look good on me and everything is not practical for my lifestyle.I'm trying to decide what details are important to me and what are not that important.Thank you for the good thoughts. I promise I will not make any big diamond decisions while recovering . Here is a picture of my current setting. Finger size is about 5.25
