I think they are really interesting!
In my younger days, I would have worn them just to freak everyone out!

The beetle earrings are quite commonly sold at night bazaars in Thailand.

They also stitch them in gowns.

Interesting that they sewed them into dresses. It reminds me that silk is also totally made by bugs, but people more readily accept that against their skin.

I saw a very beautiful spider silk woven fabric, but that would make me feel creepy if I had to wear it. Spiders really scare me.

Personally I love love love stuff like this but then again I can be described by friends and family as very enigmatic, or weird.

Ive made sterling silver rings with clear quartz and morpho butterfly wings and Ive been collecting pinned butterfly wings since I was a child. I only purchase secondhand from garage sales, thrift stores or from online shops that can vouch for their humaine methods of retrieval.

I'm very sentimental and love momento mori jewelry and somehow in my mind I see this type of jewelry as an odd extension of it.
I think nature is magnificent and the mummification or preservation of such life is as equally ceremonial and precious. They get a second life to be adored!

But then again this is coming from a woman who as a child has had a very close relationship/fixation with death and an early interest in the afterlife.

Kind of icky, but beautiful at the same time! So many things are like this. It's a feeling that's hard to describe.

agreed, many look nice but I have friends who wouldn't like to sit at the same table if you wear a bug, especially at meals.
