Here is the skinny on a diamond I am looking at:

1.04ct Princess Cut
GIA certified
Clarity: SI1
Color: E
5.71x5.60x3.96
Depth 70.7
Table 78
Girdle slightly thick, polished

Price 5600.00 USD

The only thing I worry about is the largish table?!?! I mean, I have SEEN the stone, and it looks great, but being the numbers/engineer/math type, it is hard for me to get passed that big old 78% table. Is this measurement even that important provided you can see the stone, it is not dead/lifeless, and the depth is within ideal proportions?

Truly, any and all help would be appreciated on this stone.

Thanks, Smitty333

well. Ordinarily, I would say that if you've seen it and like it, go for it. But 78 is kind of extreme, and when buying a present for someone else, I think it's best to err on the safe side. It's not even about if it's nice looking or not, but some people like tiny tables and some people like larger tables. Medium is a good place to be.
