Taking the plunge...my FOREVER diamond ring!

I have to start by thanking everyone on this site for all the comments and contributions. Writing takes time and I appreciate ALL the words and advice from the entire PS community.

And with that said, I'm getting over my fears and I've decided to go with my coveted & long-awaited FOREVER RING! And YES...I've decided it's going to (hopefully) be the CvB Casablanca with a custom diamond from Old World Diamonds...so so so excited...and nervous.

First custom ANYTHING. I used to sew for myself, but...I know, I know...I sound pathetic

The long-and-short is after seeing Caysie's designs and dealing with her, nothing compares (for me). And I've trolled and lurked and stalked antique/vintage rings forever...cannot find anything I love... I LOVE CvB designs (thank soxfan). It started with the Acacia Solitaire but I thought, "Hmmmmm...for 'entering and surviving to my 6oth year of life' why design a solitaire when I swoon over the so so so stunning and unique CvB halos!!!"

I do NOT like standard, diamond around diamond halos but Caysie's work is perfect for me and my style, such as it is...

Gave Adam at Old World Diamonds my diamond budget and Caysie knows my limits-smile. I've been SO INTIMIDATED about calling for loose diamonds, I've not done so. I'm rather shy and reserved when it comes to certain things. ADAM IS AN ABSOLUTE SWEETHEART! He's ging to work with me on my budget...so kind.

As an aside, Caysie has beautiful photos of her CvB Inspired creations on Instagram. She has one comparison photo of the Casablanca with a 2.4 ctw OEC versus a 1.6 ctw OEC...I'm hoping for something between a 1.6 ctw and a 2.0 ctw if doable...7.0 mm approximate stone and up. I'm not a super-blingy woman, I'm 5.2", 145 lbs and I have VERY wonky arthritic hands...but I'm about a 4.75-5.5 ring size. I think the Casablanca with 2.4 ctw stone would be a bit much for me...although I adore the Casablance with an 8 mm> center OEC diamond..

Oh...and my Tiffany Legacy Eternity Band just arrived, with which I'll trade the Casablanca off (from my custom 1.6 ctw Round Brilliant custom platinum and diamond band) ...love love love love!!!

Advice, encouragement...DIVORCE ATTORNEYS-lololol!

Was going to take the OEC from this ring and send it to Caysie...but I returned the entire ring...so glad.

Your current setting is very pretty! I'm glad that you are getting your Forever ring. I love CVB
work. Just so dreamy in my book! How big is your current OEC? It looks like a pretty good size.
What are your plans for it? Pendant?

I'm keeping any eye on your thread...if you get any pictures/videos from Adam please post.
Would love to see what he comes up with!

Hey tyty333...thank you for commenting on my thread and for encouraging my decision, which I need! Forgot to mention the current OEC is in a ring I purchased a few weeks back...did not like the setting...too dwarfed on my hand...returned the ring for a refund (minus restocking charges).

That solitaire OEC was/is an approximate 1.53 tcw, 7.1 mm x 7.3 mm. Was contemplating using the stone from this ring for the CvB Casablanca but the ring (as is) cost over $7,000...waaaay overpriced, IMHO. I returned it the other day and was gonna just keep looking.

So exciting! I know how scary it can be to take that plunge. It will be worth it in the end! Can't wait to see how it all turns out!
