hey guys,

wats the best way to take a picture of a loose stone?

background?
lighting?


any info would be great.

Frequently.

Seriously, I take maybe 4-5 pics for every one good one I get. My best suggestions are macro mode in sufficient lighting. If you want sparkle, use the flash or try to catch it under halogens, if you want to see the arrows, bright but completely indirect lighting in white surroundings work best. If you want to try to spot inclusions, backlighting that's not too strong. Good luck, and don't forget to post them!!!
